One of the best things about fishing is each one teach one . I watch so many people fishing and i learn from watching all y'all . Everryday is a school , we all aren't perfect but as long as there's school and we have breath in us will always learn something new .

Gabe, the jack plate is not about shallow water. It performs 3 functions. 1. When on plane, the motor can be raised to reduce drag and increase top speed. It of course can be raised too high so that the prop slips. You will have to experiment with that. 2. The set back added between the transom and the motor reduces turbulence in the props path, and increasing efficiency. 3. It in effect makes the over all length of the boat longer, resulting in a more comfortable ride in rough water. Enjoy the new boat Crystal!

So glad you love south Georgia... I'm from Savannah and now I live out in Effingham county just northeast of Savannah and we have Ebenezer creek and the ogeechee river and the savannah river over here full of huge catfish and huge fish in general... I love it out here

I'm a freshwater fisherman I do fish big water the Columbia River I had 17' boats with windshields and steering wheels but I preferred tiller steered open boats I trolled mostly and it was not cluttered Walleye and Salmon and Steelhead like to travel around the boat and I found an open boat without bench seats worked best for me. I know Crystal is going to love her Jon boat more and more.

Nice boat indeed! You can shorten the shaft on that trolling motor. Look it up just need to cut the shaft and re-do it but it works.

Gabe if you look on the starboard side of the motor there is a lock that keeps the motor from bouncing up when in reverse and also locks the motor from flipping up if you hit something going forward.
