Your cab is a reflection of you as a operator clean and tidy cab means that you leave a nice job

I totally agree. It's hard to take pride in your work when you trash a cab and spit on the floor. Nothing drives me nuts more than a bombed out cab.

@@DieselandIron No shit. Nothing brings out my "pissed off operations manager face" than climbing into a service truck or piece of equipment and finding a 1" layer of sunflower shells on the floor, and in the vents, and stuck to the controls.

Great video! I have never used Pledge in my cabs before, but I'm gonna give it a go. And your right about keeping a clean cab. It shows that attention to detail that owners and bosses are looking for.

It's a game changer Wayne. I'm shooting for a Pledge sponsorship. Pretty soon I'll have Rick's skid steer decked out with Pledge decals like a Nascar stock car 😂😂

Great tip. Getting mine ready for winter storage here in Vermont. I’m going to detail my machine inside and out. Pledge was not on my list of items to get but it is now.

Some really good pointers in here. One thing i do is get a watertight container or bucket, maybe 40L size. Cling wrap the heck out of it and bring that to work. Bring some car wash detergent and a sponge if you plan on cleaning out mud from inside, or even muddy windows 😊 my workmates even take their boots off inside the cabin. And place them on a separate mat. Keep wet wipes in the cab for dirty hands 🤙 kudos from Australia

I wish we got to own a machine here in the US like the do in your country or Europe. One of the biggest issues we have in the US is we swap machines all the time so you quickly lose any motivation to clean out the machine. Tomorrow some jackass will get in the machine and run it with the windows open while spitting their dip on the floor....

Good point Gene. I wanted to make this video to show that you can spiff up the cab without the need of any shop tools or special items. A little elbow grease with a bit of time and you can shine her right up. Thanks for watching!

If you wanna save time with cleaning, buy a extra floor matt. We have those that looks like fake grass, put that matt where your rest your feet and you can easily just pull it out with the shit you bring in. dump it out and put it back in for the next load.

I work in a landfill and do this process with an 836K and everybody wonders why I do it and say im polishing a turd. but its 100% pride in your work and if it makes you feel great then go for it. plus im the only one with a nice smelling machine lol

Update: Been "promoted" to operate a D8T for the last few months. And did the same process as always and have completely changed the culture at my job. It was commonplace when I started a year and a half ago for operators to blow out their cab with an air compressor now everybody wipes down their cabs hahaha. Funny how setting an example turns into motivation. Thank you again for posting this inspirational video!
