This lovely artist has been playing this piece of music for probably four years already. Looking closely, I can see that she plays with her mouthpiece not being centered on her mouth. It must have something to do with the way her teeth lie. It is charming! But that conductor--with his shades raised up onto his forehead......what a douchbag thing to do! Really sad to see it.
Gil Mosko Ummm ! (douchebag ? - so you say ? ) He might have an eye problem for all you know- why not consider before you criticize ? I was once in a similar situation, the lighting is not always ideal when conducting,..The previous piece, or maybe the following piece, may have required a drastic change of lighting for variety !! it does happen..it happened to me, but instead of complaining & demanding changes, I met it with a quiet simple effective solution..
Atmosferic Lightwood Well, excuuuuuuse me! Does this man not have a POCKET in that outfit? But of course you're right. I should not have disrespected a person who obviously has had years of study, training, and hard work in his life. And he has risen to the level of conductor--quite an accomplishment.
Gil Mosko Thankyou for a courteous reply Gil-, I was also tempted to say this was not a city square scratch band, cum Orchestra..but the 'Metropole' no less- I also frequently wear 30% upper tint reading specs in bright light..owing to thousands of hours over 50 yrs studying reading/writing music late into the night, but I have no-one to blame but me. Kind Regards,..E.
+Gil Mosko She has probably disciplined herself with a better breathing technique using her side lip. It's all about lip connection and controlled breathing.
