I always thought of this arc as just a way to describe how Chad, Orihime, and humans in general can get powers in their universe. While also giving Ichigio a way to get repowered.
This arc is the best character study of Ichigo. Feels like this arc was more focused on establishing mystery and a constant sense of unease. I find that if you look at it that way and not compare to previous arcs, it's easier to appreciate the Fullbring Arc. Of course there are many developments brewing still at this point in the story.

to me the fullbring explanation made a lot of sense a was really needed, to me what their abilities were, what were the quincies like and who the soul king was were the big mystery post arrancar saga back in the day

ichigo's dad being a soul reaper is pretty relevant, same as his mom, it means Ichigo is a soul reaper down to his core, it's in his DNA or whatever his soul "DNA", Rukia didn't give him SR powers only awakened them, and nothing can truly steal or extinguish Ichigo's powers(all 4 of them) because they are part of him, not just something he posses.

This one is frankly my favorite arc. People just hate it because it's different-it is more psychological and focused more on Ichigo's character development than it is his powers. That said it's not perfect, and a lot of criticisms it gets is valid. Also, one of my favorite fights in the series is in this arc (you'll know which one it is).

It COST him a lot to regain that power-he literally became nothing before he finally got everything back. It wasn't exactly a tangible loss, but it was damaging nonetheless. Zangetsu literally told him in the last arc that he was ACTIVELY trying to keep Ichigo from getting to this exact state-this emotion is serious for Ichigo. I don't think Ichigo prior to the Last Agent arc would have been mentally prepared for the TYBW arc-he only really experienced true despair during this arc. It also gave us some much needed clarity as to what Chad and Orihime are, and expanded the world through that same lens. People seem to be so fixated on power creeps, I'm almost certain Kubo wasn't focused on boosting Ichigo's power to progress the story. He wanted to flip the script and try new ideas, maybe eventually getting back to that point. Ichigo's various forms, to me, is a testament to how playful Kubo is with the concept of power. But his failing health and the clamoring of butthurt fans likely caused him to rush more than he would have liked. This arc is not perfect, for sure, and people don't have to like it. Yes its pacing is wonky at times and it leaves many unanswered questions. I'm just saying it's HATED for stupid reasons.
Fun fact: When Kubo first proposed Bleach as a series for the Shonen Jump magazine, it was rejected. But Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, wrote a letter to Kubo to encourage him to continue the story. Thanks, Toriyama. 🙏🏽

Yeah Ichigo's pops ain't a substitute soul reaper that said, Fullbring is one of my favorite arcs because he can legit die since its his real body so the stakes were higher.
This is where the arc became more interesting for me and the mystery really had me at the edge of my seat especially near the and some really good revels and it expanded on the world building

Its partly coz of the mind set people are coming in since most people are used to story escalating every arc, making character more powerful every arc, sidestepping consequences of characters actions coz plot needs them to not face any repercussions. Bleach doesnt do that this arc is more about mental struggle and faceing repercussions of your own actions, Its not like Fairy tail when Macarove uses magic that will kill him if used but then he lives coz of "friendship" no Ichigo uses a move that will take away his powers if used and guess what he loses his power after that.
And how is a person that see and talk to ghosts his entire life suddenly not able to even sense them even thou he knows they are there? How is a person that life goal is to protect his close ones, that is used to shielding the burdens of others supposed to cope with being powerless even thou days ago he could be able to deal with any problem? Fullbring arc expands on that concept, you could call it a concept of growing up. It also descales power lvl introducing fullbringers that have weird power with weird limitations and must draw out souls from the surrounding to be able to perform feets Shinigami can do with just body training. Coz of course threats like Aizen and arancars are not common coz they shouldnt be common since they pose potentially world ending threat in normal situation small timers like fullbringers try to do their sheem hoping Soul Society doesnt notice them.
At that time probably majority of Bleachs readers were somewhere between 15-18 so of course for people like that fist in someones face is a more appealing topic so of course a lot of people were not happy about this and to add more full to the fire licence for studio Pierot run out during this arc so anime entered into a limbo state leaving a lot of angry man-baby to vent their discontent on the internet. This leads to the second part why this arc is so slept on.
Because of mindless hate machines that are very common on the internet but they particulary like shiting on Bleach. Since a lot of people that didnt like this arc went on the internet proclaiming Bleach in fullbring arc is trash, writing is wack, falls after the SS and so one, your regular stuff. Now we have a lot of people who were just swept up by it and adopted these opinions as facts. So now its also their opinion and you can sometimes see that when they can give you any reason why they think this arc is trash coz they just retale what they read/heard .

I guess I’ll give my controversial opinion, bleach fell off hella hard in this arc and was continuing to tumble in TYBW arc, that’s why it lost popularity and manga eventually got axed. I think people are just nostalgic on the series (and all the people with negative comments aren’t even around anymore) but I’m not hyped for TYBW unless they change it up or do something crazy with the animation
The TYBW was really rushed behind the scenes, jump wanted new space for newer Mangas so they wanted Kubo to wrap it up. Imo the anime if it fills in those gaps will be a lot better

I guess I’ll give my controversial opinion, bleach fell off hella hard in this arc and was continuing to tumble in TYBW arc, that’s why it lost popularity and manga eventually got axed.
I think people are just nostalgic on the series (and all the people with negative comments aren’t even around anymore) but I’m not hyped for TYBW unless they change it up or do something crazy with the animation
The TYBW was really rushed behind the scenes, jump wanted new space for newer Mangas so they wanted Kubo to wrap it up. Imo the anime if it fills in those gaps will be a lot better

Fullbring is goated y'all are just meatheads lol its far from the work arc its the best animated arc for Bleach. Also are you trippin TYBW is amazing thats a bad take lol Kubo was heavily injured when writing Bleach he had to rush also no it wasnt axed Kubo ended it and he had a time limit so he rushed
@@305thief8 yeah people who hear a lot of rumors about bleach being canceled aren't informed on the background of what was going on with Kubo and Jump. Bleach was still selling a lot back then, and the fanbase was and is huuuuge. I was in the big 3 for a reason. they wouldn't be going forward with the anime if not.

I could see why they think this arc isn’t all that cuz Kubo wanted to end Bleach after the Aizen fight but shonen jump forced kubo to continue even though he didn’t want to. Still a good arc tho

Lmao what the fuck are you talking about? Its the total opposite he wanted it even longer then it already is and still has alot of story and info to give, he even brought back a 70+ page chapter that could kickstart a whole new arc this month
@@jakesexton3640 I really hope we get it because Kubo will reveal alot of info about characters that have plot holes. I'm not sure if he does it on purpose but I really like information being revealed slowly than just giving you straight up

Its not even trash y'all really over doing things its honestly the best arc in the anime for me I felt like Bleach was truly able to express itself much better than the other arcs th it had me at the edge of my seat gave me death note vibes. Y'all trippin
I really like this arc. It has so much better and more meaningful plot. This arc is more like drama that's why many ppl don't like it cause they are used to fights etc.

Yeah and ppl often to exaggerate things this arc was heat and did you even watch the arc?? If not at least read the manga for it and finish it up otherwise its best if you dont watch the TYBW you watch Bleach this long now you dont want to finish a 24 ep arc thats short

Not even true the best arc in the anime y'all just like see fights lol this was legit turned into a psychological horror and depending on how you interpret the power scaling for this arc yeah it can be very garbage since one Ichigo Fullbring forms can be scaled to Mugetsu if not above it
