I just got through reading Follow the River, and I know my mother and sometimes even me have those times, when we don't know how we know somethings but we know them. Finding out my 5th Great Gma had those feeling too that she could sense before things happened, really touched my heart. Truely that part has been passed down through our generations. The book, Follow the River was so interesting to me, and I couldn't hardly lay the book down, till I finished reading it. I know it was the true goodness, strength and mercy of God that kept her and the Dutch woman alive. That God gave her that bravery and courage to do it.
I'm I the middle of reading Follow the River...the book about Mary Ingles travels....you put her kidnapping very lightly. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Mary Draper Ingles, is my 5th Great Grandmother. From my mother's dad side. His name was Kinder Oliver Shoulders, and my mother maiden name was Shoulders. She was also kin to the 16th Rodeo Champ Jim Shoulders, she was his 3rd cousin.
I read the book several years back. A great but sad story. Saw the movie also. Liked the book better. I’ve always wondered what happened to the Old Dutch woman. So sad. 😔
When you are hungry and starving, a lot of people would eat anything to stay alive. Mary could not even think of doing such a thing, but I know it talks about in the bible about a situation where these 2 woman, were starving, both had a baby, and this one lady said, we eat your baby today and tomorrow we will eat mine, so they ate the first baby, but the next day the other lady had hid her baby. But lepers had found food shortly after and told the city about it so then that city had food.
