#HonestTrailers - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Tom hanks accent is the funniest thing in this movie.
The real life Tom Parker barely had an accent which makes it even more offensive lol
@@ingenito919 - The Dutch barely have an accent, due to them all being fluent in English. Who the heck was Tom Hanks’ dialect coach?
It sounds more like a weird German accent. Not Dutch at all
>Who the heck was Tom Hanks’ dialect coach?
Elmer Fudd
vat do ya mean, eem dutch? Ee em frum Amereeca, jaast like-ah you!
I was very surprised by the "Elvis will return" at the end of the credits.
MCU doing too much 🤦🏿♂️
Hopefully to fight vampires!
And then when he yelled "it's Elvin time"
Everyone knows that Elvis is not dead! He just went home!
From the dead?
"When Armie Hammer's date spills a little soy sauce on her arm" had me reeling badly lmao
Can someone explain this to me please ?
@@gureum_6020 Yum Yum 😋
@@gureum_6020 same I don’t understand either
@@gureum_6020 - Armie Hammer is a cannibal.
Armie Hammer has been accused of telling sexual partner he want to eat them (not just in a sexual way).
I hope they give Weird Al's shockingly true biopic about his scandal ridden career the attention it deserves when it's available for an honest trailer.
Especially since it seems to make fun of the clichés seen in most biopics! And given Weird Al is known for parodies, it's like a parody of a parody! The endless possibilities where Al can exploit it is hilarious!
And never thought in my life I would ever think Harry Potter would play him in his biopic
I saw it at TIFF and it's barely factual. It's a parody rather than a truthful biopic which is still super fun tho
@@filmtoppings I have a feeling it's going to gloss over the part where his parents died of carbon monoxide poisoning in their sleep in 2001.
@@filmtoppings I think they were being sarcastic.
That Lion King reference was outstanding. Seriously, how did Disney get away with that!?
The need to show the protagonist who just spent a few years living with two ... flamboyant characters wasn't... also flamboyant... outweighed the normal standards and practices.
How did Disney get away with what? Casting a human for a live action movie? Disney has a ton of experience with that and has casting directors on their staff... 🙄🙄🙄
@@sufitewrought6310
I think he was talking about..... Something else.😏
Disney got away with a lot of stuff back in the day
Which Lion King reference?
I was born in the 1960's and my parents were elvis fans, and I think you nailed this trailer and him perfectly.
Be sure to let them know Elvis is the OG twerked up white boi goated on the sauce.n
damn u old
Honestly, Butlers performance is one of the few biopic performances since Walk The Line I feel deserves an Oscar.
Couldn’t agree more. People clapped at the end in the theater I was in.
Agree ;)
EVERYBODY on the planet wants Austin Butler to win the Oscar.
And they are not wrong in the slightest.
He was amazing. Honestly, they could've invented a whole new character with all the liberties they took tho
@@JordoGarcia same
I didn't notice "Elvis" 's similarities to "The Little Mermaid" but thanks for pointing that out! Both films show that you gotta be careful who you do business and sign contracts with, and do research beforehand on how potential business partners will use or misuse your talents! Gotta have streetsmarts for that!😱
S E A S M A R T S
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 Booooooo
it's the hero's journey, a Disney formula for producing screenplays. it's always the same story
Biopics are never honest. But this trailer right here brought tears of laughter to my eyes! 10/10!
Edit: Whatever Happened To Fun reminded me of the Weird Al biopic w/Radcliffe... So addendum, there is at least one honest biopic.
I loved listening to Cardi B 30 years before she was born
They had no problem dragging mike Tyson.
I seriously can't watch any current biopic without comparing it to Walk Hard. They all eventually go down that road. When I saw Rocketman I really kept expecting someone to come out and say "Hey Elton, we need you to write a big song that sums up your life perfectly in 3 minutes!"
I mean, if you wanted historical accuracy, you'd watch a documentary, not a biopic.
@@h0m3st4r A lot of people don’t understand the difference.
Bohemian Rhapsody is mostly fiction but most people will say that the movie is accurate
Can we finally get an honest trailer for Netflix's Daredevil? I've waited for years now.
PLEASE
Seriously tho!!!
Come the #$%^ on Honest trailer Man Netflix's Dare Devil was far closer and better to the source material then the Good actor Ben Affleck Dare Devil movie.
Yes please!
Nahh
All these biopics about different musicians have come out in the past few years, but I’m still waiting for one about Jimi Hendrix. That movie would be absolutely insane
I’m waiting for one on Little Richard. He appeared in both this movie and the James Brown biopic Get On Up, but still doesn’t have his own movie.
Did you see Jimi: All Is By My Side? I thought it was terrific. Andre 3000 was fantastic in it.
There was one starring Andre 3000 couple years ago I think
@@pleezahful I beat you to it, friend.
Jimi Hendrix? How about Janis Joplin, The Mamas and The Papas, Fleetwood Mac? Plenty of spicy dramas on these threes can make Succession blush.
Soooo, no one else is going to talk about the fact that in Forrest Gump, which also included Tom Hanks, it is being mentioned that Forrest actually taught Elvis the steps. :))
I absolutely cannot believe that I didn’t notice this!!!!! Thank you for pointing it out!
Tom Hanks's relationship with Elvis has been... fascinating, to say tge least. I definitely feel like they had a joke lined up for that but backed out at the last moment
Say what you will but Austin butler absolutely NAILED it. He deserves an oscar for his amazing performance.
He did! He was fantastic.
Meh
HA!
Yessssss❤
His performance was great but unfortunately Hank's and the way the movie was shot just felt kind of fake
I’m so glad you included my favorite part of the movie at the end: Elvis putting that dang mic in his mouth for some reason.
It's real too. The clip is somewhere on CZcams lol
He often did it. There’s a 3 minute compilation on CZcams
@@Collier990RHCP I haven’t seen any comps that were that long but they’re so funny
Elvis always did that on stage. No one knows why but it's funny
Oh, we know why…
The jingle for the crotch shots Made. My. Day! Another great video!!!
Their songs are always so bad and this one was no exception
"Jingle" It was a reworking of "That's Alright Mama", one of Elvis' first tracks and one of his most famous.
@@gamecokben Thanks for sharing.
"The most powerful do-me eyes since Nala gave the green light to Simba" way to make us laugh like idiots before being slowly seduced lol
🤣🤣🤣
Correct.
I remembered him from Zoey 101 and The Carrie Diaries… why did I think he wouldn’t be able to give sexy eyes?
The Colin Farrel penguin joke was a golden comeback for you, keep it going HT.
I am actually obsessed with this movie. It made me understand the allure of Elvis back in the day. I was mesmerized from beginning to end.
Yeah it was fun to watch! I did feel the excitement! Not very historical tho, not at all.
@@aldranzam3456 I think this movie accomplished what it set out to do: recreate the hysteria surrounding Elvis when he was alive. It created a feeling. But I can understand it’s probably a little frustrating that Baz took so many liberties for the sake of his style, especially for Elvis fans who are more familiar with the history.
Well, it say's enough...
love the movie..it truly was a fun amd fascinating watch
It's entertaining. All the fast pace transitions makes it hard to look away. And, uh Austin looks really good.
Am I in the minority that thinks Austin Butler gave one of the most authentic performances of all time?!
Watch Rick Peters Elvis ,he's much more authentic sounding and acting.
No, you're not. He's incredible in the role.
@@matthewtorres9075, I looked him up at your recommendation. He seemed like a TV movie Elvis, not even close to Austin Butler. But I respect your right to have your opinion.
Lots of Elvis fans think so too, I trust their opinion.
100%
Dacre Montgomery from Stranger things played Steve Binder. The Stranger things fan in me was yelling out "it's Billie"
Damn Austin was gorgeous. Those eyes, I could stare at him all day.
This movie gave me exactly what it advertised. A Elvis biopic directed by Baz Luhrman, and I personally enjoyed it.
This Honest Trailers is a little more hilarious than other Honest Trailers and I don't know why.
agreed this had me in stitches. i think it was the tom hanks monster
Maybe the writers were high 😆
It's just a little more inspired, like they used to be. They churn out so many of these oftentimes you can tell the writers were just phoning in a day's work.
At some point HT got really salty, like bad reviews of movies writers didn't like. This one feels like the old HT: pointing absurds and cliches, but not trashing the film
Maybe it’s because they weren’t sucking up to the movie for a change
The editor really went to town on this one, this is brilliant 😂😂😂
His eyes are so mesmerizing.
*Elvis Presley voice* Thank you, Thank you very much Screen Junkies!
🤣 🤣dats my deeyick mah mah! daaats myyyyy deeyiiick! 🎶 I’d like a whole song with a couple of verses please
How dare you dick-tate your demands to a real artist! I say good day sir!
“That’s my dick” had me crying!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The difference between this and many review channels is more then any screen junkies makes me want to watch the whole movie they are talking about. They make memes of clips or common knowledge without showing and spoiling the actual movie. Love what you guys do!
Elvis: The Austin Butler Show…. seriously, he and Tom Hanks were in two completely different movies. Austin Butler gave the performance of a lifetime. While, Tom Hanks was downright puzzling. Though, “The Little Mermaid” analogy is great and puts everything in perspective.
This movie belongs at the Oscars and yet I'm not hearing any Oscars buzz 😢
@@rustyshackleford6035 - Only Austin Butler, and the costume and production designers, deserve Oscar recognition.
He’s been miscast more than once and folks bought it, so they figured it’d work again.
The Little Mermaid metaphor was TOP TIER! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
0:55 It took 30 years but I now know I wasn’t the only one who felt funny during this scene. I was 5 years old confused that I was momentarily attracted to a cartoon lion
You and Eddie Redmane.
The "he's white" bit had me rolling ngl :D
Hahaha, the comparison with Ariel and Ursula is great! 😂
Elvis like Ariel and like black Ariel just wants to be part of your world.
I took my mother to the movie. Her reaction, "It was OK, but he wasn't the _real_ Elvis."
My MIL said the same thing. I personally liked the movie but I’m not an Elvis fan so…
Didn’t think about that but it’s true there is a whole generation that actually has a point of comparison for this movie
....yeah that's how movies work. Is your mother suffering dementia?
I dunno I'm pretty sure that was the real guy...
That is kind of a stupid complaint.
Damn. That Tom Hanks bit was harsh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
but accurate. he looked like he ate 2 grown versions of himself, I mean what were they thinking? I love Tom Hanks but I think that role should have gone to someone like John Goodman or Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family. I mean he's super talented and already looked the part. But I guess everyone want to say they worked with Tom Hanks at some point in their career
Every single time I looked at him in the movie, my mind screamed IT’S TOM HANKS! So annoying!😁
Yeah apparently Tom Hanks isn’t taking his job seriously anymore.. People are complaining about him in Pinocchio now too…
It's amazing that after more than 10 years running, Honest Trailers manages to stay funny, dynamic and fresh
I'm so glad you made this, and thank you for putting me in the intro! But you left out the fact that this movie contains the most terrifying moment of the year: when, at his first performance, Elvis's "wiggle" launches his producer's assistant out of her seat, screaming like she's being exorcised of a particularly stubborn demon.
That's just the beast in her
@@LynetteTheMadScientist Brought out by the beast in him.
"Get ready to Walk Hard" I see what you did there.
I feel like Weird was timed specifically to follow up on Elvis.
Simpsons' Dr Nick was actually named after Elvis' infamous Dr. Nick
That Walk Hard reference got me! This movie definitely gave me Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story vibes 😂😂
It's hard not to get Walk Hard vibes from music biopics. Once someone shows you how a magic trick is done you can't not see it.
Walk hard is one of the best movies ever I’ve seen it at least 6 times
elvis is in that movie to :v
Giggled at 'Baz Hands'..but absolutely LOST IT at Christopher Walken saying 'Goodnight Moon'. Actual tears, damn you!
Epic Voice Guy's Christopher Walken impression really is on point, even better than his Optimus Prime 👌
Aw, watching a new Honest Trailer minutes after uploading is TIGHT!
Dropping Pitch Meeting references in the Honest Trailers comment section is super easy, barely an inconvenience!
That bit with John in an Australian accent was amazing lol
I don't care what anyone says about this movie, I just love it 😁 There's just something so charming about a maximalist Film like this
It's a very captivating film. It's not a perfect film, and it's very, uh, Baz Luhrmann-esque, but there are some genius moments, and the song choices were pretty fitting. I'm still thinking about the movie, and that really says something about it.
@@andmicbro1 what's the matter with Baz? His films arent even bad you weirdos just want something to complain about 💀
@@dillcnskiiHe overdoes visual gimmicks like floating signs, etc.
A lot of it was just unnecessary in this film. It worked in Moulin Rouge.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought his relationship with his mom was weird. She was like obsessed with him and wanted him all to herself. And she would get way too close to his face.
I think it may have been that way in real life? But I am not sure!
@Mary Jane Especially with an only child whose twin was stillborn. Every time he was out of her sight she was terrified he wouldn't come home alive.
I thought it was weird too and didn’t say anything. Took my partner to my second viewing and he just said out loud in the cinema: how southern are they? Was hilarious.
Maybe the 50's was like that?
Their real relationship was a little strange. She was very protective of him and worried constantly.
I'm from the same city Elvis was born. For anyone who doesn't know, he grew up extremely poor. His house is about 500 square feet.
One of if not my favorite movie of the year
Same its my favourite movie of all time
My second after Maverick.
We loved it 😂 saw it 3 times, wish it was in IMAX
"And someone marries a teenager but you're also too racist to believe a mermaid could be black, then this is the live action film for you!" I love Honest Trailers
😂😂😂
"get ready to Walk Hard" is probably the best line in the video ♥ viva la obscure references!
Let's give the people writing and singing the song parodies for these things their roses.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Seriously? Their songs are always awful
Funny you point out that he had a weird relationship with his mom, he specifically went after women who looked his mom, he specifically stated it
@Silverace so did James dean, he also had a close relationship with his mom.
Oh god, your first reaction to the Tom Hanks character had me in stitches!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Please do an honest trailer on the Pinocchio live action remake
That's evil inflicting that on them. Wasn't Cats bad enough?
we need another movie just to make it a 'tom hanks doing weird vaguely european accents' series
I want him to do that one.
Could we get a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off honest trailer, please? :D
I never thought I would laugh this hard at this honest trailer! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The part with the do-me eyes is SO fucking on point XD
I absolutely loved it. Saw it twice and bought the Blu-ray.
Same. I really enjoyed it.
Take a shot for every time they say “My Boy”.
The fact that this is secretly a mermaid live action movie is genius
Please say, "I never wanted to be an Epic Voiceover Guy in the first place! I wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK!"
The "original quirked up white boy goated with the sauce" has to be the best description I've ever heard of Elvis.
Cap
I liked the movie, and didn't know anything about Tom Parker and his involvement with Elvis' career (although some of this was fabricated for DRAMA). However, I think it showed quite well how his career consumed him, and the people around him didn't really care for him, except his ex and his dad (who just didn't seem to know what to do). But it is a Baz film, so you're going to get the glamor.
Even his dad cared more about the money and the family legacy by the end. That kind of fame and wealth when you come from nothing is really hard to adjust to.
Yea especially since from what I've heard a LOT of the "modern" problems muscial artist faced Elvis was one of the first to really experience it. Especially the amount of absolute influence he had.
@@noahsmith1053 that’s what I’m saying. He was the first one to get to that stage of fame and even people who don’t have half of his fame say that it’s hard. Imagine having to create the notion of a rockstar/celebrity and be the first to deal with its shortcomings…alone.
There's a lot of situations of what could have been for Elvis if he wasn't so controlled and exploited by Parker.
Elvis was actually said to be a really good actor and was even considered before James Dean for the lead of Rebel Without A Cause. But Parker only ever wanted him to play himself in musicals.
The 'do me' eyes part 🤣🤣🤣
the do me eyes comment was right on i was wondering where i saw those eyes before and you nailed it ... definitely nala true story
That Hammer joke was off the rails -
It was biting satire
This honest trailer was so funny, I had to rewatch it 3 times 😂
So glad you added the microphone deep throat scene🤣🤣🤣
I went to the Star Trek Experience when it was at the Vega Hilton. It was awesome.
Please do an Honest Trailer for Chucky (tv series)
Agreed.
Fantastic idea
the moment when Elvis said „does the carpet match the drapes?”
and Tom Hanks answered „I don’t have carpets, only hardwood floors” brings me to tears everytime, such a gem of a movie
Should’ve had Elvis learn the dance from Forest Gump and that would have made the whole movie great
Watching the movie.. I absolutely knew You guys would do a "mah boy" Compilation

I would LOVE to see an Honest Trailer for Primal!
armie hammer and crotch shots had me rolling
When I saw the look in his eyes I kept saying "OH MY GOD" because WOW
4:37 - Dr. Nick from _The Simpsons_ was actually based on Elvis' personal doctor, George C. Nichopoulos.

im glad that no matter what people think of the movie, everyone agrees Austin Butlers performance was amazing.
I really feel disappointed because that kid with broken legs didn't appear in this film.
Got that reference
LOL
Honest Trailers calling Austin Butler "this Nickelodeon kid" and then immediately showing a clip from _Jonas L.A._ - a Disney Channel show - is quite ironic
I remember seeing the trailer for Elvis a few months ago. The second I saw Baz Luhrmann´s name, I was out 🤷♀
Sad
3:44 this peace is what all true warriors strive for.

Idek how many times I’ve watched this movie already. My mom is a HUGE Elvis fan, she’s been playing it on the tv almost every day. It’s a really great movie, but I need a break from it.
I will say the movie gave me EXACTLY what it advertised which was Elvis in GLORIOUS Lurhman-o-Vision. Been a while since a big studio movie didn't betray me with a trailer yknow?
