1:22 in very center is the pedestal of Scott Observatory that had an 8 inch Alvin Clarke refractor telescope. And it also had a transit telescope that would point due North to due South. Eons ago it was used to set the time for the Railroad. To walk up to the Observatory in the dead of night was sort of scary.. one count the number of steps up the hill. Something like 56 or 64?
