Avoid Planer Snipe with a Sacrifice

Avoid planer snipe by sending in a sacrificial piece of scrap through the planer both in front of the board you want to thickness plane and after. This technique is particularly useful when you are using your thickness planer as a face jointer but you either do not have a jointer or your jointer is not wide enough.
