- The list is (obviously) subjective, just wanted to show my personal top 10 favorite knockouts from Muay Thai. Not orchestrated by the importance of match ups or KO's against elite opponents but rather knockouts that please the eyes most! These are just my favorites, everyone has their own. Feel free to commentate your favorite ones as well, I am always happy to see new ones that I haven't seen yet myself
Intro video (Wai Kru by Buakaw) from Amazing Thailand channel: • จัดเต็ม!! บัวขาว บัญชา...
Intro song: Epic Music VN - Unforgiven
I have already made up a video of my top 10 kickboxing knockouts, here is one of Muay Thai and will make my TOP 10 favorite MMA knockouts at some point as well - Hry

If a guy with 13 or more consonants in his name wants to fight you, seems best like you run away... The longer it takes you to pronounce, the longer you'll be out for.
@@tawan36 Everyone knows that if someone knows Muay Thai, their name flashes up above their head when they're about to throw down. Common real life fact.
As with most martial arts they keep the fighting inside the ring and are nice people outside not looking for trouble. There are exceptions for sure but in general they don't seek out a street fight. I met a group of Muay Thai fighters in Koh Samui last year, all a friendly bunch of people. Old and young. But this stuff is brutal man, for that reason I'm glad i sticked with Karate :p
Hahaha...That's so funny!!! Love it, love it!!!
Saenchai's the exception, Saenchai traded all his extra consonants for even more power.
😂😂😂😂
My brother dead last year in a street fight here, in Cambodia, so I started to practice muay Thai.

That kick at 3:15 is completely insane to me. Just look at the angle, most people could never even get their leg in that position at the top of the movement, the force is completely horizontal, no energy wasted. It's like he just casually slapped the guy with his shin. wtf.
yea he hit whit the foot tho
Lerdsila is beyond matrix in terms of technique
it is called the question mark kick (?),i do kickboxing and I always surprise my gym mates when sparring. The way you described it is completely on point.
Exactly, the nro. 1 to me.
Hip mobility helps. Goodnight Irene!
0:38 was a very intelligent move. He read that when he feinted the right hook, that his opponent dropped his hands and dipped his head to the left, so he feinted it again, then threw the roundhouse. Beautiful.
Tru it was a great kick ngl
Yes we all saw that.

3:16 This kick of Lerdsila feels a lot like a strike of a *Deadly* *Viper.*
Spinning back kick to the jaw is a very dangerous hit to receive. Here in Thailand we have an old saying ‘Do not use the deadly arts for sports’. For those of you that didn’t know The sport MT we teach flang is not the true MT that kick is one of the deadly arts traditional ‘finish him moves’ along with spinning elbow and jumping monkey elbow (skull hit). We only use if we must, that’s how it’s meant to be used only for emegency situation it is acceptable. Some of my Thai brothers here from Isaan province will know what I’m talking about. Our Art of 8 limbs dates back 1000s of years.
Edit: thank you for the likes.
Unknown User really nice man
The idea of MT having literal Street Fighter supers is kind of ridiculous. Sounds like some old forbidden stance bullshit in Kung Fu
Muay thai = Sport
Muay thai ancient = kill
Wow. So fascinating
Adam Snee i dont think we watched the same video because clearly in a street fight youd kick elbow and punch without hesitation.
4:36 This has gotta be one of the most dangerous sports. Getting kneed in the jaw has gotta be incredibly damaging
You’ve actually got less of a chance of getting CTE here and permanent brain damage than playing football or doing boxing. It’s actually much safer than you’d imagine.
@@michaelterrell5061 i mean here you get rocked in the jaw all the time, not really top of head contact. Then you got football headbutting eachother 24/7 lol
@@slizzy5675 Yeah basically. It’s made even more apparent when you realize that the people doing the head butting are all massive individuals running at each other in a crouched position at full speed, and as basic classical mechanics teaches us that’s a recipe for COMPLETE DISASTER
@@michaelterrell5061 tf they can goddamn roundhouse you bare in the head, the kick always has the most destructive force, thats why you gotta wear dem protection in taekwondo.

At 3:16 ... its beautiful how he starts with a front kick to set a precedent and then follows with a sidekick to the head which is a front kick fake .. you can see how his opponent lower the hands so bad the second time leaving his head with open to the kick change of directon! in .25x it looks incredible!

For me 3:14 should have been number 1. Not the flashiest move - but the speed generated and the power of that kick was amazing. It didn't look like much but it broke his jaw - unstoppable!
6:40 But if you hit like this 3 times, it is a very painful posture You may die. 😆🙏

I thought it was flashy as hell. Did you notice the subtle feint that made his opponent drop his guard before the roundhouse? It's maybe one of the most perfect kicks I've ever seen.
@@runswithbears3517 he sets it up with the teep/push kick right before as well.
I remember watching old Samart, Saenchai and Lerdsila fights where they'd throw in that "question mark" kick after a leg/low kick or a push kick all the time. One of the cleanest kicks you'll ever see. Less violent than the normal muay thai kick, but if you can time it right you'll score some spectacular KOs.
3:12 my man got slapped by a foot. one of my fav combat sports lmao
That wasn’t a slap, that was a SNAP. That kick literally broke his jaw.

They were all highly trained to avoid any kicks and punches. Even had practices to handle the pain if they were taken by surprise. And yet they were KO. Tell me how will you avoid? It's better not to start a fight with someone who knows martial arts.

I like Muay Thai knockouts because at first it seemed so weak that you thought they were faking it and but then they showed the slow mo where you can see the impact and the sweat blown away then you changed your mind to: Ah that makes sense
The guy who kicked at 3:15 Lerdsila, dude is an absolute monster. It isn’t just his kicks that are fast either, dude is able to dodge from damn near point blank range like he is Neo, just google or CZcams him and just gaze in amazement at his speed.

Muay thai, what an amazing martial art. ❤️
The first one was insanely good. "Faking" your hook/Swinging your arm and High Kicking with the same leg is someone you dont expect. When you look at the last knockout, I´m pretty sure that the Elbow ended the fight. The front kick only sent him down, he was out before that.

3:14 That guy make it look so easy.
I was first introduced to Muay Thai when i watched Ong Bak, since then, it is my favorite martial art alongside Capoeira. Not only because the punches and kicks are fast, but aesthetically as well.
Jiu Jitsu is an another great art form, I use the brazillian and tenth planet versions for cqc as to not cause injury, the striking arts I reserve for multiple adversaries
I was introduced to Muay Thai by Sagat and Joe Higashi in 1992.

One word. Brutal.
This fighting style looks a little "too" effective for sport.
I'd be a nervous wreck, Not about the fight... I'd be more worried about having killed my opponent on accident or vice versa.
I agree the other guy has a family and friends that rely on him if I killed him by mistake I could never live with that
that's because muay thai by default is not a sport.
It was made as a form of weapon. The goal of it is to either knock or kill.
Which is why in normal muay thai rules, we use scores instead of knock outs.
To protect both parties, but when muay thai goes into a format that doesn't look at scores.
This stuff happens.
Muay Thai is made to kill or cripple opponents
