With the unprecedented decline of biodiversity threatening our capacity to sustain ourselves, attention is being placed on the multi-billion-dollar portfolios that are funding this decline of nature. At the same time, these investors are completely dependent on a few ecosystem services - so how can they become more effective biodiversity stewards? PhD candidate Madeline Combe is exploring the perceptions financial market actors have of the environment - uncovering the strategies investors are using to integrate biodiversity risks and opportunities into investment decision making.
