- Former Army chief Peter Leahy says the government has “no money” to better protect its vulnerable military bases and ADF personnel.
“We’ve seen testimonies and Senate Estimates just recently where defence officials said they had to reprioritise money and the budget and do this Joint Air Battle Management System in two parts,” he told Sky News host James Macpherson.
“First one is to get the brains and then wait for the technology to catch up - doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.”

There are literally holes in the fence along a bike track that goes along the fence of the RAAF base , I won't say which one for security reasons , I don't want anyone getting in to my local base , how ever this is indicative of a government that simply have no idea what they're doing. You could drive a car or anything right in,. It's pathetic. and no one even patrols the area , since to my knowledge it's been like this for over 6 months. It's pathetic

In the early stages of the Ukraine war, these were proved to be totally ineffective, however this hasn't stopped the Aussie Defence Muddle Heads from spending nearly $25 million on acquiring these duds. More worrying is the $3.5 BILLION these same airheads are spending on acquiring 75 Abrams tanks from the US... similar to those that are being blown sky high in Ukraine with a commercially-available $500 drone with a low-tech RPG zip-tied its underside. "Slow learners" would be a blessing in Aussie Defence. "No learners" are the problem.
