Great Review Cameron. I really like this redesign. The interior quality seems much better than the previous one.
According to BMW Genius, there are 3 types of headlights in the new X3:
-base LED with halogen high-beam
-Adaptive LED with LED high-beam
-Icon Adaptive LED with LED high-beam
Looks like you reviewed one with the Executive tier which gets the Icon Adaptive LEDs (you can tell because the daytime LED DRLs are hexagons rather than the old circular corona style).
RCBR this is good info. I thought all 2018 model BMW’s came standard with the new hexagonal DRL’S
Eric Ocasio Not in the US, at least. We got a new X3 with the Icon Adaptive lights and they are worth the upgrade. The regular adaptive LEDs still use corona circles with blue LED lighting as an accent, but you can tell the low beam output isn’t is good as the Icon adaptive ones.
RCBR i see, i have a 14’ 435i M Sport Package and i have the lowly Bi-Xenon’s. Love the new hexagonal lights as they look slightly more aggressive. Now in terms of illumination its good to hear they are a step up over the previous industry best LED’S. Now if we can only get the US Govt to approve Matrix Laser lights like in Europe!
From what I've read on Bimmerpost forums, it seems like the conclusion is that BMWs with base LEDs and just regular adaptive LED headlights produce less light than the old bi-xenon setup. Some even say it's like having blue-tinted halogens on a car! So from that case, I wouldn't call your lights "lowly". :-)
Also, completely agree on the laser lights. We need some of that awesome tech here in the US!

The styling will age better than the Mercedes GLC, Jaguar F-Pace, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Volvo XC60 which seem to be overdone

I have the same question. How reliable has it been? I’m considering the 30i as petrol is a safe bet for the long term.

It's very confusing.... My white x3 has the cargo cover in beige.
So terribly confused between this and the Q5 tfsi. I’m dying over the contemplation. Both seem equally appealing. I just need to know which of the two would be reliable over a 10 year duration.
Same thing here. I've been watching multiple videos of BMW X3, Audi Q5, MB GLC and Volvo XC60. At the end it comes down to X3 and Q5 because of the outdated infotaiment in the GLC and unreliable infotaiment in XC60.
Neither will be reliable.
I would take the x3. It has full warranty coverage for 5 years. No out of pocket. Audi is one year or 10,000 miles. If you take care of your car, it will last, no matter the brand. Except Dodge...lol

Funny, if one sat you down in front of a 2013 and 2018 x3 you won’t be able to tell the difference :-) this look is so dated, the same goes for the engine, do you agree?
Poor guy I can tell you want one but still cant afford the base model so you try to convince yourself they look the same ,its sad don't hate because you can't get the car.
