    Excellent comparison and description Daniel, I don't know this All Pond Solutions, but I have several Hailea not membrane but piston in my fish room. The vibrations feel good at best, I put the compressors in an insulated box with polystyrene and insulating material, and the noise is not heard.

    Really useful video. I was looking for reviews on the APS.... Watched your video and bought the Hailea instead. It arrived today and I'm very pleased! Thanks

      Oh hey that's great. Glad you made the decision you feel is right and that I was able to help if I did then. I still use mine. It has treated me well for years now, I hope you find yours the same.

      No point doing it if I'm not going to be honest about it. The whole idea is to help others with my experiences so got to keep it true. Might not have been everyone's experience but can only say what I see and hope it helps someone. 👍

      That's a real shame about your pump but if you were happy with it for ten years it doesn't owe you nothing I reckon. Hailea appear to be the leaders in the field the now till someone cracks the silent barrier.

    Hi Daniel... I love giving myself presents too.. haha.. and they are pretty much always for my fish.. or other pets. It's a nice looking unit. That is a bonus for sure. I have a couple multi spouted pumps. One runs all my show tanks. I keep mine under the tank with a return valve. It's a bummer when it isn't quite up to what they advertise. I'm glad it's not a must have. Thanks for sharing.. have a great day!!

    I bought one recently I shortened my air pipes as usual also thinner as usual with the return valve and used a square piece of rubber from an old car innertube but I also have my aquarium stand doors insulated with sound proofing sheeting to hear less of my external filter noise and they're that quiet filter and pump I sometimes forget my aquarium is there. Just some ideas for you all a sheet of sound proofing doesn't cost much at all and worth thinking about using if you are trying to silence some of your aquarium stuff

      @@DanielKeepingFish Yeah Hailea is available in Australia although not in every fish store as it use to be but you can still get it online here, I've had my hailea ACO 9904 for at least 8 years now, the low setting doesnt work as well as it use too but still works fine on high so can't complain about the longevity.
      side note: my hailea (on high setting) is more nosier than yours it sounds more like the all ponds one (low setting) instead

      @DanielKeepingFish  Před 4 lety +1

      They seem to be winning out on balance at the moment. Four the four pin models anyway.

      Hey Steve. If I have been any help to you making a decision I'd feel pretty good about that. I would urge you though to research further though and consider other views and reviews on these items. Although these are my opinions in sure there will be others that do not align with mine. Some people will love the APS others will prefer the Hailea. I try to demonstrate and evidence why I feel the way I do about aquarium accessories but my view is just one in a forest of impressions.
      I will be uploading a video in the next couple of days where I use a dB meter to test several air pumps. That may be of interest to you and I hope you settle on an air pump that you are happy with after considering all options.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Před rokem +1

      @Hiarahki Music well I mean if you need a big pump that size it's the quietest of the big pumps I've ever tried but you will hear it a wee bit even if it's in a cupboard. If you need several airlines in a living room you may be better running a couple of smaller pumps which would be quieter instead one big one. A lot of people say the Tetra Whisper is very quiet too but I've not got my hands on one so far.
