What Is A Nebula?

- These can be some of the most amazing sites in the whole universe, but what even are they? Today I dive deep into the many different types of nebulas, from the classic diffuse nebula, to supernova remnants, all the way to dark nebulas, all with the amazing help of Space Engine to shows us these structures in 3D.

My man just wanted to flex he had a girlfriend
Yep
mhm
@@SanksAska his gaming computer background
Doesn't that disqualify him as a nerd?
@@idraote yup. we've all been fooled.
this is all fake
I was expecting “This video was sponsored by Nebula” or something.
Also sponsored by vox
1:52
Ikr he should really join it though
@@rj5848 Just cuz someone promotes a friend doesn't mean it's a sponsorship. What kind of yt channel sponsor people?
Me too
@@spicyleaves8876 vox is a company and I get it but as the comment is about sponsorship I added another way in which he could get sponsor in relation to the video
My man just did the most casual face-reveal ever
Long live EU
And long live Texas while we're at it.

So basically his the backgrounds match

I was thinking that too and it honestly was so sweet
New Atlas Pro lore
What a way to do a face reveal and I guess a girlfriend reveal?
I know right
Geography students' brains are built different
Could be one of the photos on the "random couple wallpaper pack".
Don't we all have that? Oh, just me then.
That too on his gaming computer
is this the first time this guy reveal his face?
I love this, another geography CZcamsr who‘s obsessed with space!
Same
Did not expect you to be here! I love ur vids
@KhAnubis Oh come on you consider youself a geography youtuber, your videos are the most mediocre, least-researched videos made to be barely 10 minutes i have seen on youtube. It is honestly time for some to put you in place and tell you this but too bad i know you would never even consider hearing critisizm.
@@ivandjurdjevic7463 dude they put out a lot of content

"If you subscribe to Curiosity Stream, you'll get access to Nebula"
Aaaarrrrggghhhh....no air *gasp*
I hate nebula sponsorships
I would’ve called the “donut nebula” the “Jack-o-Lantern nebula”. Looked like a candle within an open pumpkin to me, and the idea of it eating itself is pretty creepy and made imagery more relevant to me 😊😊.
Honestly looks more like a door or a portal for me.
To me it looked like a corondum rock.... when cut, theres shiny crystal inside....
i thought the exact same thing
remember when you were 8 years old and learned that the sun will destroy earth in -insert very large number- years and you just lost your mind like fuck what are we gonna do
Yes😂
My first question after learning this fact was: if earth will be destroyed in (large number) years, when will we not be able to live on it? Because it's like moving a marshmallow onto a fire. If sun death is burnt, how !uch sooner is toasty?
Obvious answer for me was we bail on Earth and go to ~insert viable other planet~.
But then when I was in high school physics I learned that the universe is drifting apart, eventually to the point that heat can't pass between atoms anymore and I just lost my mind like welp gg guys
@@JoveRogers97 there are potentially habitable planets in our galaxy group lol
Do not worry about that - Planet Mercury will change it orbit before (because of Jupiter) and we don't know if it will leave solar system, or switch with Venus, or switch with Earth - or even collide...Fun stuff eh?
Apoptotic Nebula (from Ancient Greek, apóptōsis, meaning "falling off").
Yea I like that
Doesn't apoptosis mean self death?
@@hellfun1337 apoptosis is when a cell self-destructs yes, but it gets its meaning from its Greek roots
I find it so relaxing to look at those nebulas
They are mesmerizing
Aye me too
Thank you
Fyi, the most of the visuals in this video were made in Space Engine, which is a giant atlas of the universe where you can visit its every corner with fascinating procedure generated or registered stars, planets, nebulae etc.
I highly recommend trying it, you will not be dissapointed :)
Also try Universe Sandbox if you want to play around with the universe and not just view it.
@@PlanetaryFacts Universe sandox is very different tho, you can't explore the entire universe at all.
Also Space Engine has far better visuals than US, they are just not made for the same purpose.
@@DeMooniC Spaxe Engine is designed for exploration, while Universe Sandbox is designed to see how systems evolve over time.
cmoe on I WAS GONNA SAY THAT
Wait a minute, don’t tell me you just summed up the basis for all abstract expressionism in one line:
“Somehow they manage to be both abstract but also real, lacking any true definition but nonetheless representing shape and form.”
11:16 lets just go with “Death Star Nebula”
thats no nebula...
YEEEESSSSSS
@@liminalradiofm7899 but it will cause a supernova( if aimed at star) so indirectly its a nebula maker
@@krishangshah7384 space station.
That's no planet..
This has to be sponsored by nebula, the streaming service.
Yes
🤣
I literary got an ad for Curiosity Stream lol
Plot twist, the couple isn't actually Atlas Pro.
In my math notebook from my junior year of high school I ended up making a lot of small doodles (though shockingly I wasn't a bad student or a particularly avid artist), and one of them that I distinctly remember making was a pencil-and-eraser reductive drawing of the Carina Nebula, which at the time I was rather proud of. Thanks for bringing back that memory!
(Also, the existence of a "Manatee Nebula" makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside)
To be honest (having an astrophysics background), after seeing the tile; I glanced at my keyboard because I expected I was going to have to write a long winded thing with corrections that most would not appreciate but I'm happy say that i'm quite happy.
Perhaps the only thing I would say is that a 'White Dwarf' is (most probably) not a 'final state'; it should become a 'Black Dwarf' or a Blackhole, or a Black Dwarf and then a Blackhole.
how would a black dwarf turn into a black hole though?
@@bumpsy Not on it's own, it would have to acquire more mass probably by merging with other compact (high mass) objects.
Hypotheticals about hypotheticals is pretty sketchy but enough (to overcome chandrasekhar limit) white/black dwarfs could perhaps form a Neutron star -which with further merges (to surpass the Tolman/oppenheimer/volkoff limit) could result in a Black hole.
There is also the possibility of a black dwarf pushing a massive Neutron star already near the TOV limit, over it.

Thank youuuu for the indulgent montages of pretty nebulae this is literally my favourite video ever
I would have called the "Donut Nebula" something like "Geode Nebula", because it reminded me more of an sliced open geode, than a Donut.
That's a good one. Invokes a similar idea too
Honestly how do you do it, every single videos you produce is so well done and simply fascinating. Hands down my favorite creator on the platform.

BEST video of nebulae I've seen. Thanks for all the hard work!
I knew much of this, but it was still awesome to observe the 3D models of such beautiful structures. It gives you an interesting perspective of something that might look "simple" (big quote on quote) to the eye.

This video is so awesome. The music and the visuals go so well together
Hells yeah man, more space videos! I would love to see one one what happens to stars after they are made in the nebulae
Let's be honest - you needed an excuse to look for a fourth wallpaper
What bugs me is how big they are, when we look at those Hubble pictures of nebulas we think oh those clouds are so pretty, but we don't stop to think how ridiculously massive they are, they're probably bigger than an area that humans will never explore.
I'm not sure why, but the moments in your video when it's just the music mixed with the compilation of the different nebulas being shown, gives me a huge dump of dopamine lol.. They each have an incredibly epic vibe..
Great video man. Thank you
