I honestly prefer this one over the original. The ambient noises, music and the simple fact that the object makes no noise like the original is more heart-touching. The original's audio sounded more like something out of an old Disney movie which gave it a 'professional' feel. It wasn't bad, I just prefer this one more.

i just checked out the original sound version and man - this here is so much better! sure what got me in the first place was the animation, but the sound is what made it sbsolutely perfect.
This is hidden gem and i love the animations , there are a whole different mood and relaxing The sound design is so immersive and honeylike to the ears Sad to see it sit at 18k views but i am much more glad that i got to see it :)

I know that this reply is a year late. I think it is perfect. That was actually intentional to show the travel of sound. The sound was delayed because the camera is far from where the meteorite landed. They also added the echoing rumbles so that viewers will understand their point.

I absolutely love that bit at 1:00 where you hear the metal hits of the workers in the distance. If i may ask, how did you pull that out? It sounds so incredibly well positioned in the distance. I know you could achieve this with the right samples but i actually want to know if it's possible to make it sound like that with "regular" samples, that are mostly recorded close up.
It's probably edited. You can take a "close" sample and play around with frequence cut offs. A slight lowpass filter for example removes the high frequences. Not sure how to describe this sound in english words, but it's a bit like when a party plays and you hear the sounds only though a wall. In additional steps you reduce the volume and you can play around with the panning, so when the camera moves, the sound moves also away from the left ear for example. This gives the sound also some kind of spatial position

Sorry for the 4 month late reply haha I used an EQ and a plugin I love called Proximity. It's one of the only plugins I have and use. I love it.
