    are you sure you put the battery in there the right way round? I am pretty sure in the early part of the video the blank side faces up. I picked up a second hand 64 plate qashqai today and the second key didnt work so i used this video to change the battery but it didnt work.
    It wasnt until later when i was wondering what the problem was that i watched some other videos that show the battery going in plus side down so you cant see the writing. 5 minutes later i swapped it round and the key works fine!

    Excellent and thank you. Had my car serviced at Halfords and asked them to change the batteries. "We don't do that here, you'll have to go to Riverside" Went to Riverside "we don't do that here you'll have to go to....Wilko, bought batteries and did it myself, thanks. Also worth noting that if the batteries have stickers as my Duracells did, they need to be removed before fitting. Obvious, I know. 👍🏼

      Shame they didn't make it so the top pops off with a USB connection so you can power the fob that way if the battery died - the work around for a low/dead battery doesn't seem entirely reliable in my experience.
      Give me a good old fashioned key'd ignition any day.

    The intelligent key is actually a transponder, it's constantly sending a signal to the car antenna, if your main key isn't working, your spare key will also be dead, so you'll need to change the battery in that aswell.

    @tonyharley5230 Před 6 měsíci

    Ok. Heres a commonly reported issue. You cange the keyfob battery and measure 3.2V on the new branded battery. Ive done this on both my fobs (2021 QQ). However the low keyfob warning on the dashboard remains. I just OK the warning and it clears but repeats every time i get in and start. The batteries have been rechecked and + terminal is making snug contact with the edge of battery. Im an electronics engineer so deffo eveything is in order in the fobs but is there a procedure to clear the low battery alarm repeating in the car. ?
    This enquiry is rife on google but the answers are mostly by those who've misunderstood the question .

    How funny. I just picked a Qashqai up 2 days ago, and one of the keys doesn't work....and this pops up. Matrix for sure.

    Don't use WD-40 in the lock, it's not the right thing to use and can actually gum up the lock over time. The preferred lubricant is graphite powder (I know, sounds weird but there you go), or a PTFE based lubricant, such as GT85

      Spot on Gavin, was just about to say the same thing. NEVER use WD40 on tumbler/cylinder locks, always graphite powder. If push comes to shove use an HB pencil and rub the lead along the key a few times this can help as well.

    My key sometimes doesn't open automatically... unless I push the button on the key itself. I've changed the battery like 3 times in 1 month now ... what can it be?

      Are you using a decent battery? Have you got the 2nd key to try?

    • @trouble22n
      @trouble22n Před 2 lety

      @@TheQashqaiGuy yes it's a decent battery... the thing is that sometimes it works and sometimes not... don't know where the issue can be. if i pull out the key from my bag, than it could work but again then not.. and pressing on the button and everything that works then perfectly.. When starting the car it's the same, sometimes I have to put my key on the start/stop button to start the car but then sometimes not.

      Hmmm. Maybe worth (if you feel confident to try it) going over the internals with some electrical cleaner or isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud.

    Followed to the letter but battery in this video is put in opposite to my 2017 model ie should be + downwards and not facing up as video, if you pause video the original battery appears to be + downwards beaware. Other videos show it my way. Wasted an hour and almost went to have key re programmed.

    I thinking of replacing my key fob as the only key fob I have is not working and was told the battery is ok but the fob is faulty. I have seen new replacements selling on Amazon, so if I buy two fobs would I be able to program these like you have just shown us in the video..
    Regards Colin..
