Iliakti | The bay of Salamis with its wonderful waters
It is one of the most misunderstood and wronged destinations in relation to the beauties it hides. The reason for Salamina, the largest island of the Argosaronic Gulf and is only 15 minutes from the port of Perama.
As well as being of great historical and archaeological interest, Salamis is a good nearby destination from the capital for diving and sightseeing. It has beautiful corners, rich nature and enough beaches to relax and explore.
The island's short distance from the capital, combined with the numerous and interesting options it has to offer, make it an attractive holiday destination. The island of Salamis has inexhaustible natural beauties, picturesque coves, rich vegetation, mainly pine trees, olive trees and vines, impressive sights, remarkable ancient monuments and wonderful natural beaches.
In the bay of Salamina you can find one of the most beautiful beaches of the island at a distance of 6 km from the city of Salamina and it is called Iliakti. This small bay is divided into two parts, the small and the large Iliakti.
Little Iliakti is divided into two small beaches paved with fine pebbles, sand and crystal clear blue shallow waters and they are not organized. The large Iliakti is located a short distance from the two smaller ones and what characterizes it is that it has umbrellas and is an organized beach.
The center of the island has everything a modern city needs for the visitor. In the summer season, it receives thousands of visitors mainly from Piraeus and the surrounding areas for one-day excursions as well as multi-day vacations. For swimming, the areas Kolones, Pyrgos beach, Psili Ammos, Peristeria, Aianteio, Kanakia, Selenia, Saterli, Resti, Iliakti, Vasilika, Ag. Giorgis et al.
Words are superfluous in front of the beauty of the landscape and you cannot believe that these beaches are located next to Athens.

Ως κάτοικος της Ηλιακτης, διαπιστώνω ότι τα φυκια στα ρηχά των παραλιών μας μάλλον πεσαν θύμα της κλιματικής αλλαγής. Το επιβεβαιώνει μια συγκριτική ματιά στο προ διετίας βίντεο σου. Δίνει σαφώς ένα πιο εξωτικό τυρκουάζ χρώμα στο νερό η απουσία τους, αλλά δεν ξέρω αν σημαίνει μεγάλη ζημιά για το οικοσυστημα της περιοχης.
