  • CRUISE TIP #20, BEWARE OF YOUR BALCONY DOOR.
    One of the highest spots for injury on a cruise ship is the balcony door in the cabin. People have had arms broken, fingers lost, and head injuries by leaving the balcony dooy open.

    Thanks for talking about this. It will be a very big lesson to learn if you don't heed the warning.

    A tip about the sudden door closing and the tip is a sudden closing. Nice touch!

    This tip should be included in the cruise line initial instructions, you hear it all the time ⚓️

    Honestly I'm shocked that more people don't bring this up. 😮 Thanks for the heads up I'm about to go on my first cruise in August!

    Just a note that the video ends abruptly mid-word. You make a good point. I am unsure how to avoid the suction caused by the unexpected arrival of the steward, though. Also, I don't remember opening the balcony door turning off the climate controls in my NCL cabin? Maybe this is only for newer ships?

    Yes a very good tip and being a Balcony cabin lover I have experience the slamming of the door and seen people actually hurt by them too. Don seems like the video cut off before you were done talking.

    Yep. Ive walked past rooms and you can tell the balcony is open because you can HEAR the wind vacuum inside!

  • @motel1029

    We always keep our balcony door closed and locked. It needs to be locked for the AC to keep working as well as the draft you're talkingabout.

    I like the slider balcony doors as Royal and Celebrity has. I think Carnival has the dangerous ones- I don’t know why people leave them open- go out and close the door behind & enjoy the balcony! Don’t like the new infinity cabin balcony’s on Celebrity Edge Class- it’s like a big window and the extra space to us does not equate to a true balcony!!

    What happens with those Windows on Royal Caribbean? You have to open them, you don't have a door.

  • @belxsar1504
    @belxsar1504 Před měsícem

    Well, it's only green (and common sense) that your A/C or heat would turn off when your balcony door is left open. Leaving your cabin exposed to the outside air would defeat the purpose of having A/C or heat since it would blow straight out, right? 🤨
