The recoil on those heavy arrows is a super wierd feeling. You can almost even see it on your video 🤯
Dude it literally has recoil🤣
The ‘Quarder pounder’…. Literally!
I dig this 🤣🤣
@@outdoorswithtravis I hope going forward you use that name
Thats the most enjoyable archery video in a long time in my honest opinion. Thank you Sir!
Man thank you so so much for the time and support 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I took a week break to catch breathe and now we back 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I shoot a 1200 grain arrow quite well out to 55 yards using a 7 pin sight and 5 yard pin gaps. With my 80lb mach 34 they go 200 fps. The build is a full length 170 spine grizzlystik momentum TDT with a 400 grain ethics archery insert and 300 grain point
Awesome awesome awesome 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
First name : "The Impaler", or just "2K" I once made a 1300 g arrow for a 75 lbs Recurve bow, still have this thing lying around. With some practice i was able to hit a dinner plate size target at 50 m. Some club guys told me to stop it, because it was eating the target bail. Never measured arrow speed, but i think you could refletch it in flight.
“Refletch it in Flight” 🤣 I love just messing around and trying things instead of imagining them.
"The Anvil" or "Sledgehammer 2030"
Sledgehammer💪🏼
I have a 90lb apa king cobra. I would love to try shooting a 2000gr arrow out of it and see how fast it shoots. I had about 1080gr arrow one year that was doing 235fps. A 2000 I'm sure would probably be under 200
235 with a 1000 grain arrow is insane dude 🔥
If you ever try please let me know the results, would be interesting 🙏🏼
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼💪🏼
The good news is once you release the arrow you have enough time to go get lunch before it hits the animal so you are well rested for the drag out...
@@outdoorswithtravis 🤣🤣🤣
Three things that come to mind with such a heavy arrow ! A quitter bow and much less shock to the limbs !
As long as you know your distance and pin setting out to 35 yards the kinetic energy is your best friend when going through bone !
Amen thanks for not slamming me 😂😂
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I took a week break to catch a breathe and now we back 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love that shirt! Wish i could get one in America
Maybe we will get them out there in the next couple of months 💪🏼💪🏼
It would be interesting to build a normal 650 to 750 grain arrow, with 300 grain broadhead up front - simply for penetration sake. Also to see the speed in which the arrow gets to the target, assumingly quicker with less drop.
The penetration just doesn't seem like it's there with the simple mass of the flying log. Localizing the weight more upfront would have the effect of pulling the arrow through the body. And there are few targets that can hold a heavy grain high FOC arrow.
I love an arrow in the high 500s to mid 600s. 💪🏼💪🏼
At the end of the day on our side we purely experimenting, testing and playing around 💪🏼
I shoot a 650 grain arrow with my 70 lbs bow and my draw length is 32 inches and the foc is 15%.
The arrow leaves the bow at 260 fps.
The furthest distance I have shot at and killed and killed an animal, was a 56 metesr shot that hit the top of the heart of a Red Hartebeest and broke through the humerus on the other side where the arrow was just hanging by the fletching on the other side.
I only hunt by stalking and never sit in a blind at a waterhole/salt block/feed and I have zero problems with gap shooting out to 60 meters and even more, but I have 60 meters as my maximum limit when shooting at the animals I hunt with that bow.
I have a 80 lbs bow as well and I have pins out to 80 meters when I use the same arrow, but I do not remember the speed.
Travis can shoot!!!
Thank you for the kind words and support man, appreciate you 🙏🏼💪🏼
Guys like you keep me going 🙏🏼
I think the name should be Goliath
I think so to 💪🏼💪🏼
@@outdoorswithtravis will this be the of it now
Name it Mjolnir, because it will hit like a hammer!
Because like thors Hand, calls the hammer- this arrow will be drawn to its targets heart💪🏼💪🏼
I dont understand why anyone would choose to make a build like this and use small point weight. I would olace 30% at least of the total weight on the point.
I have a specific broadhead I want to use and so I catered for that.💪🏼
I mean he added more insert weight than your entire arrow😂
@@Madisonsvaughn true!! I just dont like the idea of a 2000 grain arrow with 100gn broadhead.
Original build had a 250 point weight + insert weights, I completely get what you saying buuutttt I want to use a specific broadhead 🤣
@outdoorswithtravis I get it brother. I do appreciate the video a lot.
“THE THUMPER”. This is crazy stuff. Would love to see the slow motion on the giraffe when it happens. My longbow shoots faster. Wonder if the increased weight is causing the string to stretch? Might have to make a custom heavy duty string? Have you done any math on the kinetic energy and momentum values like as compared to a 500 grain arrow? The numbers have to be off the chart.
So it’s honestly shocking on the KE calculation(like there’s no benefit to using it at all)
The strings is such a good point, it honestly didn’t cross my mind 🤔
“The Telephone Pole of Eventual Doom” because it will get there eventually
1000%🤣
1. Titan Toothpick
2. The Plump Plunger
3. The Thud Stud
The Thud Stud might just stick 🤣
That is an absolute freight train
10000% agree 😂
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I took a week break to catch a breathe and now we back 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The Titan Missile
Dig it 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
"Barbie" short for barbell😂
I like it 🤣
Name for the arrow “whY2k” 😂
Dude you need a 180-200 pound draw weight war bow
You planning on hunting 12th Century Knights in armor or something?
12th Century Knights, in Armor, behind a very thick wall 🤣
Would call that a "Big fat harvester"- BFH 2024 (Big Game Edition) 😂
The BFH 🤣
I should beable to help you with a giraffe hunt. Looking for a specific size bull??
Thanks so much for reaching out, honestly anything that isn’t going to break the bank. Preferably where the farm keeps the meat.
Looking forward to hearing from you, my number is 0716136654💪🏼🔥
Why do you rough up the base of the vanes? Is that something you usually do with all vanes or just those specific ones?
I find in general I get them to bond better if I rough them up a little, have had a fletch come off one of arrows in the last two years since a wise old man taught me it 🤣🤣
84 foot pounds of energy thats pretty decent power for 2030 grain at that speed
It’s decent for how crazy the idea is but the arrow itself is so impractical 🤣🤣
Man i would love to have me a few of these.
I’m afraid you would have to have a pick-up truck as a quiver if you had more than 5🤣🤣🤣
*> Cerberus
Oooooo, serious! I like this 💪🏼
What are the most dangerous game in Africa? I watched a show called 'I was prey' and a bull giraffe nearly killed the entire crew. I'm guessing Giraffe, Elephant, Hippo and cats of course.
Giraffe, elephant, buffalo, bushbuck (any animal you corner) and then the usual predators.
But everything should be considered dangerous I’ve seen zebra kill, pigs kill
Thor's Hammer 🔨
I dig it 🤣🙏🏼
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
The godzilla slayer arrow!
Mmmmmm I like it 🙏🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
The Hulk
Cause it gonna smash 💪🏼
Why would you not load the froant of the arrow for a higher FOC. ?
I have a specific broadhead I’m going to run and it’s 100gr.
Anymore weights behind the insert and we would have passed half way through the shaft 🤣
You might want to add a bit more weight to your stabilizer you are getting a bit of kick back from the heavy arrow. Top limb comes towards you. Well done with the experiment so far.
You should get less kick but then again, I've never used a 2k gr arrow.
100% that Stabilizers wouldn’t let me but I definitely agree with you.
I need something that wants to keep the bow down💪🏼
Dang I was so close I guessed 130 lol
Really?🤣
What range are you shooting at here?
This is Wildcrete 3D Targets in South Africa 🙏🏼💪🏼
You could use a LOT more stabilizer weight up front. That bow is rocking back pretty severely.
You could learn how to use a bow without stabilizer...
@@GardenArcher7625
You could suggest that to every top target archer on the planet, of course they will all laugh at the notion much like I did.
100% I actually switch out to a longer stab as well.
I’ve shot 1.5 inch groups at 80 yards no stabilizers as a video on the channel but why shoot handicap. I want to be as accurate, efficient, consistent and fool proof as possible and I believe Stabilizers allow a person to do that 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Nickname: engagement farming
Engagement Farming? I’m lost 😂
Nickname? „Led Zeppelin“ of course ^^
Lead Zeppelin😂😂
“Monstro”
Definitely a monster I just can’t decide if it’s an ugly one or beautiful on🙈
@@outdoorswithtravis beautiful!
I don't understand why anybody would go through all of that to get 9 ft lb more kinetic energy then I am with a 350 grain Arrow at over 300 ft per second
We just messing around 🙏🏼 it’s not practical at all
@@outdoorswithtravisto carry more energy rough the trajectory. How many animals are you killing 10’ in front of your bow?
Paper tears are weird. If you aren't super precise with your anchor, it can cause crazy tears.
100% but I find if you choose the right spine for the amount of weight you want to put on the front combined with weight you shoot. You build a very forgiving arrow
Nickname it the Patriot
🫡 Salute
Id say you have a 100 spine and probably no way to align the spine either as you have two arrrow spines inside each other. Penetration is not your problem 😅
Dude it’s crazy 😂😂😂
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I took a week break to catch breathe and now we back 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So 136 ft/s is roughly 92 mph. That’s an average mlb fast ball.
Don’t start giving me ideas here 😂
Bad Boy Bubba
Bad boy Bubba, am I trying to seduce the arrow or shoot it 🤣
The "Teerpaal"
Fitting 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Scud, or "The Brick"
The brick is fitting, I feel like if you slapped an animal with this it would die🤣
The hell you hunting using 2000 grain arrow and small broadhead apparently you want pass threw on a bloody elephant
Or this for shits and giggles
Meat missile
Amen, let’s make sure it lives up to that name 🙏🏼💪🏼
There’s zero reason why you can’t hunt with the longer arrow.
We already struggling to tune it and get it to fly at my length there’s no ways we would have got it to fly right being so long over the riser, at least not accurately.
But I still have the long one, I’ll give it go and let you know 🙏🏼
Koefoet
Let’s gooo💪🏼💪🏼
Slowpoke
Ain’t that the truth, this thing arks like it’s going 100 yards but at 20🤣
@@outdoorswithtravis it was crazy you would shoot. It would take a second then you see the arrow in the air🤣
Y2K
Little bit of programmer language there I see 🙏🏼💪🏼 reek Havoc💪🏼
