- Last home game of the season, where a win would all but cement a 2nd place finish. Blyth needing points, precariously sat above the relegation zone on goal difference.
So a 5-1 win for Scunthorpe has done nothing for Blyths relegation concerns. After watching them play you can see why they are where they are. They offered little, probably had 10 mins or so in the 2nd half. Where we let them play a little and have the ball. We then stepped up and dominated once more. When they got the penalty I was adamant the ref was feeling sorry of them. Having seen it back again. It could have gone either way, so I’ll stick with he was feeling sorry for them 😉😂
Good to see the board on the pitch with the players taking the plaudits 👏🏼👏🏼 “It’s been one hell of a rollercoaster” as James said. Without the new board we more than likely wouldn’t have been to enjoy that. So thank you to each and everyone of them, to the players/management who went through the mill as well. The fans for sticking by and helping the club with fundraising too. We’re all in it together 💪🏼 #UTI
I don't think you realise how bad we are,we have no forward at all,we have the u19 keeper in goal. We got taken over 3 month ago and nobody knows who the owners are as they have never been seen. We have a budget of 5k. I said on way down it would be 5 or 6 nil. Good luck in playoffs and continuing your journey back to the football league 👍
Yeah my wife when she saw the keeper asked if he was an apprentice 👀 Bit worrying no one knows who the owners are. Fingers crossed you match whatever Farsley do on Saturday. Won’t be easy against Brackley that’s for sure. They’re the team I don’t want to play in the play offs.

Yes, with everything that has gone on this season. To finish 2nd is the next best thing, hopefully we do what we need to in the Play Offs. The final is at Scunthorpe, not Wembley if we win in the semi-final. The highest placed team that gets into the final is the home placed team 👏🏼👏🏼

Up to us now to take the chance and gain promotion. With the players we have, I don’t think we’ll have a better chance. If we don’t go up, then the question is would we still average around 4K crowds, I think a few would drop off. So in our best interests to go up, just for larger crowds in the away end from a few more teams

Great vlog as per usual. As I booked my flights last year when we were flying high thought Gloucester away would be party time unfortunately that didn’t work out so I won’t be here for the playoffs. @ScunthorpeUnited I'd also like to point out that I'm the first person in human history to confuse Blyth Spartans with Gloucester City. They couldn't be further apart geographically in this league, have entirely different colours and entirely dissimilar names. It's quite an achievement, when you think about it 😆
So what happens now? Two home games to win for promotion?
Potentially yes. First one on the 27th April, then if we win that game. We go into the final on May 4th, which will also be held at Scunthorpe, as we’ve finished 2nd.
So has its advantages finishing in 2nd place.

You know what Gareth? I watched the pre game warm ups and from where I was sat near the Blyth players warm up, I noticed how low their players seemed to be. Their body language was 'do we really need to be here?'. They were defeated before the game started, no passion or positive signs. Whereas Scunny were the opposite. I said to my son in law that Scunny would win by a country mile. When Scunny scored the first Blyth's heads just dropped. Should have been a red on the tackle against Tyler.
Unfortunately I never really saw the warms ups, with trying to entertain Kendal. Though once that early goal went in you could see the change. Be good to get an early goal or two in the remaining games we have also. Hopefully with the same outcome 😉
