Certified Medication Aide - Highland Community College

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course at Highland Community College provides students knowledge and skills necessary to administer medications under nursing supervision. CMAs find employment in long-term care facilities and assisted living facilities. This course prepares individuals to sit for the Kansas Certified Medication Aide exam and is based on the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Medication Aide Curriculum.
Job Outlook: CMA has recently been added as a new category in Kansas Labor Information Center. CMAs are needed as they pass medication and help fill a gap due to the nurse shortage.
