    I was gutted when I found out he died. It was before I was born, but I loved watching strongman as a kid and when I turned 24 I started getting back into it and thought I'd watch all the wsm comps. He quickly became my favourite athlete. Then I binged the comps and found out he died when I wanted to see what he was up to nowadays and I was gutted. Didn't even exist at the same time as him and it hurt to find out almost three decades ago he died so young. I can't even imagine how hard it would've been for those that knew him personally. He seemed like such a great guy

    Jon Pall was so good for the sport. He ran his mouth during comps but he did it for entertainment, behind it all he always seemed to have great respect for his opposition. Also Capes doesn't nearly get enough credit (i guess he does in England) as an early great and pioneer of the sport.

      @barath4545 Před 2 měsíci +6

      Did you account for Big Z being abscent for 3 yrs (at least) where he would easily have beaten Pudz?
      There was those (iirc) 2004-2008 years where Big Z competed in the "wrong federation" and his 3 WSMs there didn't count cause that federation lost out to WSM.
      But he would 100% have smashed Pudz during 2 or 3 of Pudzs wins and have had 6-7 WSMs to go with his 8 Arnolds today.
      It is a bit sad and the biggest "what if" story of Strongman history today ... But Big Z's 4 official titles does not do the man any justice.

    • @Gndlf_TheOrange
      @Gndlf_TheOrange Před 2 měsíci

      @barath4545 Totally agree. This was purely based on wsm stats. I did do a combine with Arnold's and he wins by a landslide. Basically 10 finalists each year get 10 points to 1 point depending on their position, add it all up. Basic but gives a rough guide to "who's the best wsm competitor ever?"

    Large ascending aorta: systolic pressure during heavy weight lifting can rise from a normal reading of 120 to highs of 280 and even 300. “If your aorta is weak due to your genetics and if it is mildly enlarged, weight lifting might be what puts you over the brink,”.... research indicates that retired NFL athletes are more likely to have enlarged aortas than people in the general population. .... Researchers report 4 cases of ascending aortic dissection in patients with long histories of weight lifting. In 2 of the patients, the initial symptoms of dissection developed. So if you weight lift go check out your heart with a cardiologist.
