Silver was definitely good enough for the Slovaks. I think without all those injuries they could've challenged Russia more. Anyways this tournament was huge for Slovakia: Winning USA, and they celebrated it like a quarterfinal victory. Winning Canada in the quarterfinals, and they celebrated it like a bronze medal. And winning Czech Rep. in the semifinals, and they celebrated it like winning gold :)

True. Even the silver medal was a stretch for Slovakia, but they played with 100% heart for the whole tournament and it can get you this far even with the roster they had to play with. Don't get me wrong, great players but just not good enough to take a medal from a tournament like this. Unless you have heart. And Slovakia did this year. Can't wait for Bratislava 2019, hopefully they'll get a medal. And Finland will win gold in Bratislava again!!!

Let's win, don't doubt! We had a frame of team from young players of KHL. Kuznecov, Tarasenko, Popov and many other for a long time could play in NHL, but they play in Russia, as well as many talented Europeans. And whose school the best in the world all of us learn in two years in Sochi...

well, russia have al chance to win the upcoming Olympics, but imo..russia got like 3 gold, 1 silver in last five years and have been strong since 2005, (at least 07 bronze year)..and most countrys have come with there best team last 5-6 years ( even if some names are missing), and they realy dominated this tournament, so makes em no1. 1000 of gratz to Russia from sweden ;). also gz slovaks to the final!
With Bykov, discipline were their biggest problem. Russian best players were vie who were biggest star and national hero. Now they are good functional team.

Our guys got silver, but for us they're brilliant. Like diamonds :) We are 2nd best team in the world, we are vice-masters or vice-champions. In slovak it sounds similar like "více majstri" (read viitse), it means that we are more than champions, because "více = more". Ok, I know, a word "více" is from czech word, in slovak you say it "viac", but for Slovak people -> více sa hovorí aj na záhorí ;) Takže sme naozaj viac ako majstri! :)) Sorry I can't translate a word "Záhoráci".
yeah it was, I still think russia would win a rematch, they got stronger as the tournament continue, ..and imonk3 is right about the coach, imo bykov was very good, but with biljatendinov the defense was more solid than beforem but still have a good offensive ;), im swedish, but really like when russia hit the final,when they play like this, 08,09 final with canada was awsume, and 2010 czeck rep. was nice too, hope sweden goes to final with em soon =)
