Great, thorough review as usual! I have the same car, same specs just a different color and I love it! As you say, it’s superbly designed, especially the interior, fun to drive and is loaded with safety tech and also MINI quirkiness. The only drive modes (experiences) that affect the driving characteristics are Go-Kart and Green. Balance turns on the driver seat back massage which is nice. I totally agree about the lack of paddle shifters. It’s a shame that only the JCW trim has them now in the Countryman. I didn’t need the JCW extra power (the S has plenty power for me) and the JCW is quite a bit more pricey. However, all in all, I think MINI (BMW) has done a stellar job with this new Countryman. I’m 6’4”” and I have plenty of head and leg room. There is no leather in these cars, not even the steering wheel, but it feels super plush. MINI call it Vescin, which is their name for “vegan leather”. The fabric on the dash and doors is made from recycled drink bottles and polyester carpet. It feels hardnwearing but time will tell. It looks great for now. Mine is only 2 weeks old.
I have a 2023 Countryman S All 4…it has paddle shifters…odd it’s not on this one…bummer. Looking at getting another vehicle to replace our CRV that my son is taking to school…was going to get a CRV, but this thing is sweet…I was originally put off by the first reviews I watched…don’t really care for the looks and wish they kept more of the switches inside…BUT, I test drover one the other day when they were changing my oil…WOW! Very impressed. Much bigger than my 2023…not as big as the CRV (last year’s or the new model). But, if you don’t need the extra space, this car gives you more bang for the buck…MUCH more fun to drive…much better tranny. Many more luxury options. I’m a huge audiophile and if a car doesn’t have a good stereo it’s a non-starter…this HK system blew me away. I’ve never been impressed with HKs in a car…this one is excellent! In essence, you are getting a BMW for about 12k less…it’s based on the X1 frame. Go spec an X1 the same as this car and your in the high 50s…
Not something I might buy but I am amazed at the room inside. I have ridden in a friend's Mini and I was surprised how much I liked it.

The absence of paddle shifters is the only reason why I haven't bought it yet. Hopefully they will add them back in the future.
Sadly, the "Sport DTC" that includes the paddle shifters is exclusive to the JCW/Sport trim that MINI USA has said will be exclusively offered on actual JCW models in the U.S. (with one exception, the F65 5-door Cooper since it's not available as an actual JCW model).

In the research I’ve done I read they eliminated the Homelink function. The Sales person in Sterling couldn’t find it for me but claimed it’s in the screen. Can anyone confirm?

For 40k or so, its not a bad deal but you could get a BMW x1 for 5-10k more depending on options. I have a 2017 X1 and surprise surprise, they are the exact same length. I might trade it in for one of these in a few years. I had a f56 in the past and it was a fun car. Mini always discounts their cars so don't ever pay msrp.

No spare tires wow that’s cheap. So what do you do if you have a flat tire you can’t even change your tire yourself. That’s ridiculous if you have to call a towing. Now, even the people sitting in the backseat know the speed to driver is driving the car and with super big numbers for even police to see
Great video, unfortunately, that is NOT a Mini. BMW has turned that brand into a nightmare of awful. For example, when you turned the wheel left right it should have been so tight as to launch you into the woods or flip the car. Sad to see what has happened to this iconic brand.
