- Setup of this track: Bitwig is midi sequencing the Prophet 10, Waldorf Iridium, Sequential Pro 2 and Oberheim OB-6. All synths are connected to the RME 802 interface and mixed in Bitwig. Effects by Valhalla DSP.

It is! But I also make a lot of music in the box. It sounds a bit silly when I say it with all the gear in my studio, but it is not about the gear in the studio.
@@MartinStuertzerdefinitely some advantages to “in the box!” My entire setup is actually portable - just have to take a single unit with me…. Because I essentially have a VST version as well as the hardware. LOL I’ve realized that at some point if I’m playing an open mic, it could honestly be me with an iPad and midi controller. 🤣🤣 I’m saying all that but look at MY setup!! Hahahaha.
@deUSASTRA the modular stuff, from what I’ve seen, can actually be built *fairly* inexpensive if you know how to solder and build kits. Some of these companies get paid a lot of money to put circuit boards inside fancy metal boxes!

This is the "Perfect" ambient track! Great combination of melody, effects and a nice percussive background that doesn't get overpowering like a lot of electronic music unfortunately does these days!

Ich habe einige Versuche gebraucht, aber jetzt bin ich glaube ich durch. Wie findest du Push in Bitwig? Ich bin leider nur so mittel begeistert.
@@MartinStuertzerfür meine Zwecke reicht es aus. Clips anwählen funktioniert prima und auch Drum Maschine lasst sich steuern wie in Ableton. Ich nutze das Script von Driven by Moss. Aber die Funktionen sind natürlich nicht so wie in Ableton. Aber es hilft erst einmal sich keinen zusätzlichen MIDI Controller zulegen zu müssen. Der Mixer ist in Ableton natürlich besser abgebildet
Martin, that is one of the best tracks I´ve heard from you. I love everything about it but the most I celebrate the sound and the sequenz of the kick. Your studio setup also is great. That screen looks and what kind of blue board is that that the synthesizers are lying on at such an angle?
Thank you! The screen is just a trick in video editing, I captured the screen and added it in post production to give you a clearer image of what's going on. Which synth stands do you mean? The tall ones with the keyboards or on the desk?
@@MartinStuertzer Um das deutlicher zu machen muss ich ins Deutsche wechseln. Ich meine diese blau leuchtende, schräge Fläche vor dem Bildschirm, an der der Prophet und so anlehnt. Das sieht einfach, zusammen mit dem (eingefügten) Bildschirm total professionell aus.

Thank you! It is a Dell, nothing special. If you wonder, why the image is so clear: I recorded the screen and put inserted the video in post production. So it is not the actual monitor filmed by the camera.

Sorry to see you have to stop your journey with the new Push 3, as I was looking forward to seeing you integrate the MPE pads into your performances. With your frustrations with Ableton, that's understandable. Curious why you're back to the midifighter instead of the faderfox? Nice track!
I use both, the Midi Fighter and the EC4. The dynamic script for the Midi Fighter is just perfect, which is why I am working with that mainly. Maybe there will be a good script for Push some day, so that I can use the MPE pads again.
I hope so! Did the Bitwig script use the Push 2 aftertouch capability? If so, it seems like it's possible for Push 3 and MPE. If you weren't interested in the screen in the EC4 (my vision is too poor to see it on the EC4) would you prefer the Midi fighter as a controller in terms of the feel of the knobs/buttons and build quality over the EC4? I'm also considering the UC4. Wish I could try them all before buying!@@MartinStuertzer

Thank you! I moved my tent to Bitwig land and use the Launchpad and Midi Fighter Twister. I was unhappy with some features of Ableton and gave up hopes when I tried Live 12.

Thank you Martin. I found myself listening to Microgravity recently whilst working.Most productive, right up until the massive synth 2+ minutes into Pollux Rising stopped my in my tracks. May I ask, was it the OB-6?
I realise this is the synth equivalent of asking a photographer what camera he uses…but I have to know!
Oh I have no idea! It was a long time ago, when I recorded the track. I did not have the Ob6 yet, so it must be a different synth.

Not a clue why you don't record a lot of this as automation, leaving you time to focus on one or two key parts that would benefit from a live performance. If you were touring this set and being paid, the promoters wouldn't appreciate you leaving things to chance when you could just guarantee a great performance every time.
Spoiler alert: when I play at a venue I do things differently than when I play at home. Have a look at my "live at planetarium bochum" video, where I did exactly what you described. This session was a spontaneous recording, which I did while I was producing this track.
Martin is ruining all Holy Wars between DAW users (Ableton vs Bitwig) by doing perfect content not depending on DAW.
