If you want to get the steering wheel just hit the bumper so the airbag will activate and your steering wheel is out!
Hahaha ffs
Lol
Love this mans videos, you pick a lot of tips up tbh..even though I have tinkered with cars for years... I have a white 2011 limited edition Corsa with that steering wheel, have to be honest think I only use the volume!
Never wanted to even try changing a steering wheel, just because of the airbag accidentally going off! Only had my car since last Oct...love the look of It but now I feel like a VXR in the same model and colour.
Hey! Thank you very much Alan! I do try haha. Oh wow do you thats great. Haha, as long as you make sure the battery been disconnected for about 20 minutes you will be fine. I wouldnt dare take the risk otherwise. I would love a VXR aswell, maybe the future!
Well done, the wheel looks so much better, you should be proud of all the work you've done. Your car has had a massive upgrade with all the things you've changed!
Thank you very much, its an ongoing process haha!
Tom's Driveway did you have to program it with opcom ?
I’ve a Vauxhall viva SL it has all the goodies on it I’ve had it five years a great wee car greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
It's good to try, my friend
Thanks Tom excellent video just changed sons steering wheel great tips and well explained.
love watching ur videos makes me want to make more videos about my corsa
This is the video I was looking for! I’m wanting to do the exact same thing but I wasn’t sure if I’d need to rewire the radio electrics with a default none button steering wheel being there originally
did you have to code it in?
@@thomassahin963 I’m guessing but the cables are not behind the stock buttonless steering wheel so just had it on but not working.
@@jamesrichards6038 ahh fair enough, I'm thinking of getting one myself and not too bothered about the buttons, just the looks mainly 🤣
@@thomassahin963 go for it about £12 on eBay that’s how much mine was
How do you get the buttons to operate if the original steering didn't have the controls. Do you need an extra wire loom and reprogramming?
Thanks Tom for a simple guide in replacing the steering wheel, I have just did the same to my corsa (I had the same wheel as you (without the buttons)) everything is connected up and programmed to include steering controls using opcom however the buttons are still not working, do you know if there is any other wiring that may be missing and needs added?
Bit late but I al having the same problem
@@arjxsid I had to get it programmed in using Tech 2as opcom wasn’t able to do it properly on my 62 plate corsa, I think opcom struggles to access all the modules on any corsa newer that 2010. Hope this helps
@@ALN5641 cheers mate I’ve got an opcom and I’ll try it
Thanks Tom!
This video helped me a lot!
Hi, could you tell me,after you change the steering wheel buttons works fine?
when you made the steering wheel change, how did you get the radio controls on the steering wheel working? thank you.
did clock-spring need to be upgraded too?
It doesn't need to be changed
Super helpful this video is mate nice one !
Thank you!
Trouble is I have a 2011 Vauxhall Corsa and I’m not sure if this will work with the current model that I have Corsa S Ac Cdti Ecoflex S/S 93 and would I be able to use the buttons not too sure
Hi Tom, great video.. I too have just updated my steering wheel. But in order to get it talking to my radio I need to be able to connect the radios key1, key2 to the wheel.. any idea on how to do this or where they are situated.
How did you get the steering wheel controls to light up
Great vid I have a 2011 corsa will this work if I take the old buttonless Wheel off and buttioned one on or do you haft to add wires?
Did you need to code or program the steering wheel ?
i did a swap with a insignia steering wheel wich is much better 😊😊
If i upgrade the non button wheel to the buttoned version for one, any extra wiring or just a simple plug in? And would any programming be required? Trying to replace my steering wheel as it’s knackered but i have the simple wheel and I can’t find a replacement alike.
If you did something like this replacing the wheel for the non original wheel, does that change anything insurance wise? Not sure what would be classed as the modifications when asked on insurance
hi mate I have a corsa d 62 plate do you know if a 13 plate corsa d wheel will fit please
Hi Tom Did You Manage To Get Your Steering Wheel Controls To Work?
I've done this to my Corsa d recently. Seems like the controls don't want to work. With original or aftermarket radio. Any ideas?
did you find out how to sort this?
Hey there
I've got a question....
I want to change my current wheel limited edition 1.2l) to an OPC or GSI wheel.
Do I have to make lots of changes? Or can I just remove the old one and replace it with the OPC one?
Hey Tom iv been wanting to do this for a while and like yours I don't have the steering controls. Where do you rewire it? And any chance you could give me some tips on how to?
did you end up doing it?
Hi mate.
Love the video quick question do you need to do any programming or add any wires after the steering wheels in place or does it work straight away?
Appreciate the help.
You would need to add wire to make the lights work and also the volume i recall.
@@TomsDriveway ciao, congratulazioni per i tutorial, quale sarebbe il cable e dove dovrebbe essere aggiunto?
@@TomsDriveway Can you tell us what wires we must add and where?
Just wondering if anyone could explain to me. Would the buttons on the steering wheel work as there are no extra wires?
I have the exact same car as you and I was just wondering if I can replace my steering wheel with any Vauxhall corsa steering wheel or does it have to be a specific one, also where did you buy your one from ? And would I have to get opcom to program it ?
I ordered it from Ebay seller second hand. I'm not totally sure and the spine can be different between the cars. You would need an opcom to activate the volume functions.
Tom's Driveway Thank you ,also is the programming difficult or straightforward
sorry but how do you do with the volume is the multifunctional it works or not?
It does indeed work, you have to wire into the steering wheel column.
Tom's Driveway can yo do a vid showing how to run the wire to at least control the volume. Better still radio channels/ cd as well. Thanks
I probably should have shown that in the video at the time. I might in future but as i have already done it not any time soon sorry.
What wheel is this?
Corsa d Limited edition steering wheel
its actually a corsa D SRI steering wheel not limited edition
That's the vehicle it came...
Do u know if it’s kinda the same for a 2016 corsa?
I was wondering. Just got a corsa d black edition. What is that button next to the doors lock in the centre console of the car. Its got like a seat. With 2 underneath
Are you referring to the passenger airbag button? It turns the airbag for the passenger off and on, for when u have a child in a car seat in front.
Hi mate did you manage to program the steering wheel controls to work? I have a opcom but haven't seen any tutorials of anyone doing it on opcom?
Yeah of course, thats how i got it to work jn the video
Did you manage to get the lights working on the controls
I did indeed, wired them permanently into cigarette power
@@TomsDriveway so they are always on? I'm thinking of connecting them to the light switch or find somewhere in the radio which when the lights come on for the stereo they will come on for the steering wheel aswell
Yeah they are, but it was easier plus only tiny leds that last for ever and do not use anything. Yea you could do that if you like its the better way. You cant see them in the daylight anyways
why u didnt show the steering wheel fuctions..
Where can I get those steering wheel
Hi tom, I’m really struggling to get mine off, any tips i tried using a t30 but idk if I’m meant to be prying or what it wiggles but just doesn’t come off
Are you referring to the surround of the steering column?
Tom's Driveway no, the air bag before i can remove the wherl
hey tom's how are you man please help me I’ve bought a steering wheel like this one and change it but will the steering wheel controls do not work do you is there a problem ??
Hey, been pretty ill be nevertheless, well yes thr could work but a like work is required. So you basixally need to plug thr steering wheel in, however you need to activate the control in opcom. And potentially run two wires for the steering wheel controls and the leds lights. But once u activate it in opcom at least one side should work
Hi there
Can you us know regarding the wiring
You mentioned?.
What pins and locations please
Did you know how to reduce the noise from the drivers door? The clunk thing that my door does. I put some wd 40 but nothing change. Thanks.
It maybw the latch bar in that allows the door to open so far. They become loose and make a clunking noise, its a t40 i think. Tighten that...
Tom's Driveway i try to fix it and to tight it but nothing change. On CZcams there are some tutorials for that clunk noise but for vectra not for corsa d. Doesn't working for me. Maybe is loosen of the years as you say. Thank you.
Yeah think how many times that door has opened in its lifetime and the bar stops the door over opening.
hello with the opcom can you make the right lever go to enter the menu and see the autonomy in the tacchimetro display?
I'm sorry I dont understand your question fully.
@@TomsDriveway help me?
I will if I can understand your question haha
@@TomsDriveway trip board tacchimetro with opcom you can?
Did you have to program the airbag back into the car? Any Airbag fault lights upon switching?
No programming required nope just plug in
Thos this fit an Opel Corsa D ? Or only vauxhall thanks
Yeah mate they're the same car, will fix the same.
Where did you purchase your new steering wheel from?
I got it for Ebay!
@@TomsDriveway Thanks do you have a link by any chance?
It was a one off sorry, just whack it in Ebay and have a look through.
Hi, can you please tell me where is SAS (Steering Angle Sensor) ?? Thank you
It is part of the steering column if you google it you will see
@@TomsDriveway yeah, but i cant find it.. thank you for reply!
Its all good, i try and help as much as i can if i have experience with it this i unfortunately dont sorry.
Hi bud how did you get the controls to work I have same wheel in mine and wanting to swap thanks
I did get them to work yeah, just have to run a wire to the steering wheel plug and also activate with opcom!
So the wire is already there in car just need to plug in to new wheel ?
@@jamiegeoghegan5265 Even better, bang on just plug it in!
Does the clock-spring already has all required wiring in it? or need to upgrade it too?
I can’t get my airbag out
Do the buttons on the steering wheel work and that
They do yeah!
@@TomsDriveway did you need to program it in or is it plug and play?
@@TomsDriveway i changed my own, and button's didn't work... Need something else to do works?
I think when there is no multifunction steering wheel dice the first step not
Hi, I’ve bought a steering wheel like this one and I’m waiting to change it but will the steering wheel controls work straight away because I’ve already got them on my old steering wheel?
If you have them on the old steering wheel then it will be fine. This is because they will be programmed in already and the wires will be there. Will be all good, have fun!
Tom's Driveway thank you. I also have the big display in my corsa excite 1.2 61 plate and I was wondering if I could upgrade the software so that I can get the fuel consumption etc?
Yeah for sure you can adjust the config, if you look at my gid video follow that!
Tom's Driveway where about are you because knowing me I would only make things worse and you seem like you know what your doing, I would pay you to do it!
Hahaha, its not too bad honestly. You cant massively mess it up really as opcom gives you the selection of choices. I dont really have the time with uni sorry. I have faith though!
