With the popularity of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" happening at the time, NBC decided to produce an American version of "Weakest Link", but in weekly primetime, and with a possible top prize of a million dollars. They even managed to get Anne Robinson herself to Burbank, California to present the show. While the show did alright at first, one thing that likely brought the ratings down was airing too many celebrity specials. A five-a-week daytime version would air soon after the primetime show was cancelled, but with a different host. That would only last one season.

A lot of very bright contestants on this one, particularly the scouse lady and the Scotish lady with the glasses. Serious temper tantrum when she got voted off though.
within reason though! she was a strong player before that round, despite her being the weakest link in that round. i think she deserved another chance to be fair.

Ah cool. The first show recorded (9th broadcast IIRC) turned up a month or two ago and apparently anne was quite nervous since she was still working out how to handle the show and even fainted in the studio heat! Did she seem like she had got used to it more by the time they recorded your show?
A vidéofloor could be added on this set for an official return of the game. Then also, the top prizes could be différents in each of rounds like in the US current version.
Anne Robinson seems almost asleep in this episode. All the drama is gone. Ah well, she hosted this show for so many years, she can have an off episode!
Biggest shock I've seen on any episode of this. Anne should've won but there were at least 5 other players better than Andrew. Anne's tantrum after being voted off was understandable but a bit sulky. Also interesting that the format was a little different with the step forward in the final round and none of the banter between the host and contestants that added to the fun later.
