  • Awesome Permission! The B*ttle of Stirling Bridge was a b@ttle of the First War of Scottish Independence. On 11 September 1297, the forces of Andrew Moray and William Wallace defeated the combined English forces of John de Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey, and Hugh de Cressingham near Stirling, on the River Forth.

Matthew Fox......Yes. Not long ago people used water pumps with sinks outside. When we remodeled our first home we tore out the whole kitchen ...plaster too...down to the lathe in the walls and as we had an old defunct well in the yard the whole kitchen went down the well. Someday someone will dig into that and say....wow, someone buried their kitchen down here...lol....

I think the best spot would be south of the river at the sight of the old Stirling bridge ( about 50yards from the stone bridge that spans today )
The flat area close to that spot is where the English army would have mustered. There wasa rough causeway, leading to the bridge so you should be looking for slightly higher ground where horses and wagons could stop with dry feet. It was a marshy flood plain at that time.

You need to go into fields on the open where they clashed , stay away from houses and back yards. There is always lot of trash around. If someone pulls out sword , pic of armor , helmet or anything from that famous Battle of Sterling Bridge post it here on CZcams. Good Luck People

Hi Shane,I’m thinking maybe the first target was a drain screen thingy 🤔. Maybe the big piece was a chunk of an old sink or tube drain. Nice old hinge. Seems like you might be at an old homesite and digging up bathroom. 🤔Very cool non the less.

The first item you found was from an watering can spout. The lead was from the ridge of a roof, and the chunk of pottery with the metal ring attached is from a broken sink. Have you tried looking in a scrap yard as you won’t have to dig very deep.

    • @Klesh
