True, exactly, well said. "Singaporean cannot have good things one" see how government ban vape, ban pmd, ban pma are all due to people vape inside shopping mall many years back. Pmd ran over less granny, pma ride on highway.

I’m a cyclist and I can proudly say that I own the road. Drivers should stop driving and take public transport

Tell that to delivery companies and those who urgently need to get to client sites within an agreed/contracted time frame

These companies wont make money. It costs more to maintain the fleet, search for abandoned bikes, clean, pump tyres, repair brakes etc. Charge high, nobody use, charge low then cant cover. Plus a lot of thefts. Ppl just break the locks and park outside their homes.

The Hello Bike bicycles are actually better designed. Easier to adjust the height and they have markers to advise how tall to configure.

These bikes usage depend on the volume of foreign labour in Singapore. A decade ago the northern Chinese wanted to build and buy homes back in china and there was also a need for construction projects in Singapore with the building of casinos, tons of mrt stations and btos etc. The timing just fit back then and there was lots of foreign labour in sg. Now the momentum has slowed down significantly with the completion of these constructions and also northern Chinese have saved up enough to go back home quite a while ago already. Blue collar jobs pay about the same in china so not many Chinese are inclined to return to Singapore to work the same kinds of jobs anyway.
The bicycles companies saw the end of an era and their heyday is gone by now. These bikes need people to use and also money to renew licence too. Without enough customers of course they will have to exit and end the game by now.
Quite easy to explain and understand. Especially if people are not living in a cave in Singapore.

Let's just face it people. I ain't a foreign defender nor am I a foreign basher. The scale of economy in Singapore is simply too small and if Singapore is to depend on Singaporeans for everything in Singapore to thrive Singapore won't be able to stay afloat at all.
The issue many people have with foreign influx is the money go to pap and not into Singaporeans pockets instead. Foreign influx also made job competition fiercer in Singapore for all Singaporeans. That is the main issue and flaw Singaporeans have with pap hiring policy.

why cannot implement something similar like in Taiwan. bikes must be returned to dedicated bike stand and lock ufter each use, rather than so freely of using QR code.
