Ajofia na Nnewi, also known as "the great masquerade of Nnewi," is a highly revered cultural symbol in Igbo land that originates from Nnewi in Anambra State, Nigeria.
Ajofia Nnewi masquerade is usually accompanied by 50 men and is not performed in the presence of women. The masquerade has a smoke reeling out from its head. The masquerade always held a traditional symbol called “Anunu Ebe” known to have supernatural powers.
