This game is utterly incredible, not only the graphics but the depth in story, the gameplay and the atmosphere is absolutely phenomenal. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't get any awards during TGAs(The game awards)!

so worth it. Playing on the AW3423DW and my god is it beautiful on OLED and UW. 16:9 just feels like I am boxed in. I will say though make sure to edit the ini file to turn off black bars on in game cutscenes. You will get them still for pre rendered stuff but thats fine.

Proud to say I finished this game with my old trusty 1080ti 11gb beast, running at 20 fps.
Reminds me of playing Crysis on my evga 8600 gts 256mb on high settings running at 15fps or maybe less.
Could play at low but wanted the visuals. Hard to believe how I tolerated that until completing the game

Best graphics I've ever seen. Played it with path tracing and even though some sections dropped into the 40s, it was well worth.
Can't wait to revisit with a 5080 or so.
4080 maxes the game, use dlss and frame generator and ray deconctruct= 4k max setting 60fps+ high path tracing.
@@powerplay074 we both know FG is ass unless it's above 100fps. By using DLSS you are not maxing anything. You are rendering the game at much lower resolutions.
Did you not use DLSS? I got a solid 80-100 fps with Quality (1440p internal) at 2160p output on a 4090, frame generation on as well of course, all settings max.
You didn´t get solid 80-100fps dude. You got under 50fps and then fake frames kicked in. I honestly don't know how you guys can use FG under 100fps and then make these claims. I keep FG disabled at all times on my 4080 and I would play 60fps native over 100fps FG any single day of the week.@@theblackswordsman9951

They said the time between AW2 and AW3 won't be as much. The ending screams as a cliffhanger so hopefully we'll get the next game in a couple years.

@@dimka11ggg more than enough. I'm playing at 1440p with dlss quality on and ray tracing on medium settings and it's super smooth, 60+fps all the time. With frame generator on you can get up to 90 very often
I did not expect this video to end like that.
This video single-handedly made me very interested in starting the alan wake series (+the fact it got nominated for GOTY). Also very nice music. Also i played CONTROL and enjoyed it a lot.
Probably one of the most audiovisually stunning video game yet that truly utilizies RTX not just advertising bullshit.
I'm just happy to see new innovative games that push the boundaries of what is possible. Alan Wake 2 is special.

Completed the game. Graphics were truly next gen . Totally Amazed how well written was the game and those who are saying it is a waking simulator they they are too afraid to walk in the dark with torch and simple handgun . Can't wait for the DLCs

On High Ray Tracing only possible with 4090 4080 and possibly 4070ti. For high refresh experience (90+ FPS) it's preferably on 1080-1440p for other two cards that are not 4090 and with 4090 4K only with DLSS on performance lol

I am using a 4070 ti and a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 and the game looks and plays phenomenally. Granted, DLSS and Frame Generation is needed. A 3060 ti isn't enough.

It looks fine compared to other AAA games, but by far not the best-where is the light source at 0:36 -no doubt about the Nvidea capabilities. My 4090 is magic and worth every penny.
Using a computer for ray tracing to generate shaded pictures was first accomplished by Arthur Appel in 1968. and still people can not use raytracing in 2023..

@@Justin-st5xv my brother embrace upscaling this is going to win you frames, i have no issues with turning Frame Generation on and running DLSS Performance its barely visible , I mean the difference. Upscaling is the future and in future it will be more effective

If it weren't for all the pop-in that happens in the wooded areas, this would be about as close as could be to a "perfect" visual presentation in 2023. The pop-in is honestly pretty disappointing though. Trees literally swap lod 3 feet away from the character. Super distracting in an otherwise hyper realistic looking game

Having just finished the game on RTX off, I can tell you why, It looks 95% the same
it looks pretty good with rtx off, but they absolutely don't look the same

you already know by right now that alan wake 2 is not that bad. 3070 can run it better than PS5 with equivalent settings.
I'm on a 3060ti, pretty much everything is high (even raytracing is high in Alan Wake levels), DLSS is balanced (a little bit over 600p) and honestly can't tell the difference on my 1080p monitor.

SSA (screen space reflections) should probably still be used in places where ray tracing is buggy.
Otherwise it's definitely an incredible looking game, hope to see more Dlss improvements for all rtx cards and more games with Dlss 3.5

They definitely fked up mirrors in this game.
Mirrors give this low-res reflection with raytracing. Without it, it's another giant mess.
And it's not even in the dark place. Try mirrors with Saga outside the dark place (mirrors in the cabin in Bright Falls) and you'll find the same issue.

Locking dlss 3 only to rtx 40 series cards is the cheapest marketing move a company can make . Now modders are unlocking it for older cards . On the other hand amd setting up a great example by providing fsr for all amd and nvidia gpu.
Shame on you nvidia. Most money minded corporate company ever who doesn't even care about their users.
I hope gamers ditch nvidia gpu all together and switch to amd or intel arc.

DON'T WATCH THIS TRAILER IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME! It spoils some key moments for some dumb reason.
The image is blurry in this game even on the highest settings. We are also forced to use FG because the game would drop to 20 fps. Some textures in the cave and npc faces look terrible. I wasn't impressed, and the game is boring most of the time. Overrated.
