When, where and how much do I add of glycerine, sodium benzoate and/or clove oil?
Hi! Combine: 6 Tbsp hot water, 3 Tbsp gum arabic powder, 2 Tbsp glycerin, and then either 1-2 drops of clove oil OR 1/2 tsp of sodium benzoate. Mix everything together thoroughly and you've got your base--ready to mix with pigment. I hope this helps!
What does this look like when dry?
Does the paint harden in the pans so that they are like regular watercolours?
Yes it does!
The one cup water, half cup gum Arabic etc are made only to use in a 9 to 1 ratio with additional honey/glycerin Then 1 to 1 with pigment?

i put them in the fridge, i know that's how the paint hardens. How long will it take? 2 weeks?
Another thing: half of the pans paint disappeared, help???
When making watercolors that will go into pans, you would not put it into the refrigerator. You pour the liquid paint into the pan and let dry, it can sometimes take a few days. For high humidity areas, many people will fill the pan 1/2 way, let it dry completely and then fill the rest of the pan and let dry. This will prevent mold from happening if it's drying slow.
The only thing that you'd put in the fridge would be if you had leftover watercolor medium that you didn't mix with pigment yet.
I'm not sure what you mean by "half the pans paint disappeared"
@@NaturalEarthPaint i see people putting bechers of gum arabic, but apparently, i think i put too much, even though they are only 5 drops. Too, there is people baking the pans at 50° for 1h/1h and 30 minutes, so I wanted to try that and they came out really good, so idk, i'm very confused now 🥲
@@vadjm by all means, if that method worked for you then use it. :) The methods we shared are ones that we have tested and use ourselves, but that doesn't mean it's the right method for everyone. There is usually more than one way to make it work. We are happy to hear you were able to make it work for you.
Can i use this method to sell? I mean like for a long term product, i don't want to use any toxic preservation.
Yes, you can make these watercolors and let dry into pans and sell them with a long shelf life.

I saw this on your blog and i'm a bit confused. Does it means the base before adding the pigments?
