that mullet you pull out of the freezer is that just from the bait shop? im sick of buying whole frozen mullet and having to try and knock the fillets off
Mate thank you very much for these vids learning all the time much appreciated ...see you fishing on the peninsular cheers
Lee Stringfellow live work and fish on the peninsula.
Nice Vid Bud, Woody Points not a bad place to get out of a northerly too, just have to put up with more eggheads up there
Geoff Jones agree. I like the high tide at woody pt.
I like upstream a bit near Dohles Rocks. There's a good spot about 50 metres off the ramp that usually holds nice Bream. I've got the weekend off, so I might see you about if I get my act together and wet a line.
Brad Griffin I’ll keep an eye out
Love bream fishing Wayne … another great clip … Mel 🙏
Thanks Mel. Glad you liked it
Awesome video thank you.
Most welcome
Thanks for another great video. New viewer. New subscriber. Thinking about getting a fishing kayak this Christmas and I'm based at Albany Creek so your videos are a great help.
most welcome. I have a skiff so similar to a Kayak.
Another quality video well done
Thanks
Looks like a nice rod and reel combo.
Thanks I like it.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing where did you buy the reel from please.
@@pa1264 tackle land at Sandgate.
Love Hays Inlet.
me too
Mate if U can find feed seaweed worms . The seaweed must be Rooyen anoth and worm. Dig down the bottom where it's broken down into the sand and dig by hand. And you will never look back and the whitting you will catch will outdo anyone even on the jetty U will catch everything. All around Australia I have found this. And you can keep them in anoth seaweed in a heshin bag and in a dark cool spot and just as I dribble of salt water every now and then. Lovely show just found you

Perfect buddy
Thanks Poya
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing there are many useful fishing tips on your channel. I've just moved from NT to brisbane and need to change my fishing style here, so far, they have been very beneficial for me.
Cheers buddy.
Great vid mate i always notice a lot of mullet jumping around in that exact spot. Any summer whiting vids coming up this season? :)
DoomiePookie the mullet were there again as well. Always a good spot to throw a cast net
DoomiePookie and yep. Whiting are on the menu
Wayne, why so much bait on a small hook? I don't like having overhand lest the fish just pick at it and take it off. My thinking was just having enough to cover the hook should be good?
Grengis I have found that the longer baits are also attractive to Flatty. Works for me.
Wayne, you're running such a small sinker with mono line, is casting distance anything you're worried about in this situation?
Cameron Smith with 20 knots at my back I could cast without a sinker. Sinker was to help keep it near the bottom
Cameron Smith also I always use mid to large size baits.
Hey, do you use any leader on your line for this simple bream fishing? Thanks.
adrian kocunik only with braid. Happy to use mono on its own
LAND & BAY Fishing thanks a lot mate.
adrian kocunik most welcome.
Hope this is not a silly question but what shoes/boot are you wearing?
Dive boots - ebay, $45.
Henry Granic that will be fine. Most fishos go barefoot I’m just a sook.
@@henrygranic8140 got some marine work boots, glad i did stepped on a stone fish at scarbro.spines went in but did not go thro stonefish came out stuck to the underside of my boot, had about half inch of sole...........
@@henrygranic8140 dont know how far they get south, but there are plenty here, and they bury into the sand, you can pick them out if you rearly look, you need a thick sole to be sure.
No swivel has helped big time since watching this
Glad it worked for you.
Hi mate what is your rod and reel setup
sean singh reel - Okuma Ceymar CBF 30 bait runner. Rod -Okuma LRF 742-s 7’4’. The rod is sensational.
Any reason for running sinker down directly down to hook or just personal preference?
On the peninsula there is a fair bit of rock and weed you’ll be casting over. When possible I have no sinker at all. But when I run a sinker for bream it’s generally a very light on directly on top of the hook. Doesn’t seem too effect the catch and reduces snags.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing what’s the difference between running it to hook vs having it stopped at swivel?
And when you run it to hook do you have a leader knot or swivel?
@@nolixss694 as mentioned less is best. No sinker at all. No swivel either. Just the hook and bait. A fluorocarbon leader is fine but I often just use the mono straight off the spool.
Try chicken breast, I'll say no more
+Coxyyy haha. That’s one of my favorite baits. I’ve even done a couple of videos with it.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Nice mate, I doubt alot of people know its a good bait.
+Coxyyy it’s awesome
