Even though it's really bad this happened, the water actually makes it look like a real scene you'd find somewhere in the Pacific Northwest like Washington
I had that happen to me in my previous home about 10yrs ago. Then I got it again in my current home but not as bad about 3 yrs ago. My current layout was under construction and most of the wetness was near the throat to my yard. Oh well... rebuild time. Now all is good.
All is well now. Because the flat surface under scenery is foam, the water just sat there and had nowhere to go other than to slowly evaporate. I waited two weeks to let everything dry out with fans and dehumidifier running and then started to replace scenery material. Some trees had to be glued back but really, other than ground cover things came back fine. There was one problem with a switch on the back side of this peninsula that had to be replace because that area is on homasote spline. The warped homasote caused rail to pop out of a #6 switch and there was no way to fix this. One laser cut building with paper roof came apart and had to be redone. The incident caused me to finish this scene as there were some parts that I'd procrastinated on for several years so some good came from the flood.
When that toilet pipe broke, Ill bet that model railroad is going to reek of urine and shit. after it's dried out, Best to give it a heavy washing down with Pine Sol.
Ouch! You actually thought to get your camera and document it? I would have been so flustered I'd forget the camera and pick up the cars, sop up the water, turn on fans, etc.
Sorry to see this flooding. In the other hand the real water makes a terrific realistic rain scene. Maybe too much so..

I would guess after seeing this, you got physically sick. We’re you able to repair or did you have to rebuild the flooded area.
