- Celebrating 100 years of the Giant Dipper! The crowds are here and so is the weather! I got on a few rides and also got stuck on the gondolas 😆
Overall, it was a fun event and so much fun! Happy anniversary, Giant Dipper!! Cheers to another 100 years!

Fun fact:
There's actually a huge basement under the mini-golf course where the pool used to be. They keep old animatronics, and stuff down there.

I’d love a colder day in Santa Cruz. 😂 It was fun to see the fireworks! It’s been a looong time since I was there but it mostly looks the same. Good times!

Oh man, you are one brave animal! Lol that crowd looked crazy.
At one point I was taking about 1-inch steps or flat out not moving anywhere, salmon swimming upstream.

MY wife and I were on the 4th train of the day ! We got out free 100th year celebration pins too. What an awesome day we had. The giant dipper still runs great too 🤩🤩

The Boardwalk was so lively and so much fun!❤️ Wow, that fireworks show on the beach was so amazing! A perfect ending to the night for sure! Oh my gosh, when the gondola ride stopped moving, I was totally feeling your pain. Lol! I would have reacted the same exact way being stuck up in the air for that long😬 Calling for help for someone to save me😂🤣 Lol!
Haha oh man, I'm usually good with heights, but after sitting there for awhile, my anxiety started kicking in haha

One of my favorite movies of all time was filmed there...The Lost Boys...and since it came out in theaters, I have visited The Boardwalk a large number of times. Love that place! It is a shame they are no longer doing the free concerts on the beach as they have done for decades...saw some amazing shows there. Cave Train and the Haunted Castle are my favorite rides there by far! That Pirate Mini Golf is fun as well if you want to pass time...that and the Ghost Golf here in the Fresno area are my favorite Mini Golf courses.
Yeah! That's right, lost boys was filmed there. Also, transformers was filmed here. I'm not sure exactly where. I believe the beach boys used to play here a lot back in the day. They still have movie nights under the stars.
Omg my dad tortured me in the haunted castle before it's refurbishment lol he knew I was scared so he would grab my ankle and yell "watch out!" 😆 I remember closing my eyes most of the ride when I was little.
Our Maurer Spinning Coaster is called Undertow, and is more thrilling than SideWinder Safari.

I haven't been to the boardwalk since like 2014 but I always remember getting on the gondola and being scared the little arm would break 😆. Those people waiting hours in line for the dipper are crazy lol

Nice! There are booths you can go to for passes and whatnot. It's all cashless. I think you may be able to pay online. I haven't tried that yet. But on the boardwalk, the machines feed out playing cards so you may not be able to do it online.
Cave train adventure is the best ride 😁.

I miss how the Boardwalk used to be.... before it turned into a mega-park tourist nest.
It's still a lot of fun. This day was just very crowded.
