  • In today's video we pay a visit to Kosrae's "outer-island," Waclung.
Instead of heading to Waclung by boat like most people do, we decided to take the beaten path via Utwe where we stopped at one of Kosrae's famous waterfalls, Sipyen.
Sipyen waterfall is 1/3 of the way from Utwe to Waclung's beaten path so i'd recommend driving a 4x4 or just a lifted truck as there are a lot of big rocks and deep ditches along the way. If you can't access one, just look for a experienced and confident driver to lead the way.
Sipyen waterfall should definitely be on your "Kosrae Bucket-list." It is such a beautiful waterfall and creates a peaceful stream where even little kids can enjoy if you don't want them to go to the waterfall itself.
After Sipyen waterfall, you will have to drive another hour or so to get to Waclung by land which should also be in your "Kosrae Bucket-list."
I hope you enjoy this video and thank you for your support.

You really help me to visit my old home again. I feel like the path up to Sipyen falls was very different in 2001, I don't think there was a bridge? But I also don't remember walking in the river too much, I can't be sure though. Your drone footage is amazing and so helpful to get the true perspective of the area, it really helps because the foliage is so thick everywhere you can't really tell what's beyond, so the drone is perfect for that. Thank you!

When it comes to landscape and how it used to look in the 2000’s in general I’m not familiar with it. I grew up mostly in Pohnpei. I only remember parts of the road to Waclung and the drone definitely adds a new perspective and appreciation to how big Kosrae actually is.

@@Yangsta Yes they completed the road to Walung when I was there between 2000-2002, we walked that new stretch of road one time and it was fun. Yes the drone shows the vastness and beauty of Kosrae, it's very special to see the drone perspective. I was on Pohnpei several times and loved it too, very different, more developed feel to it. I think there was a Club Flamingo we liked to go to haha. The College was also really nice.
