I paid the museum a visit last week, I was very impressed with the displays, lots of details big and small,, I found information on some of my kinfolk from the 40’s and 50’s ,, I will be coming back for a visit..
Great video! I grew up down the street from the Hemphill Service Station and in the area of Mr Parks' other businesses, and about 3/4 mile from the Peach Bowl and can hear Jimmy Mosteller's voice now! Thanks for sharing. I need to get over there!
My great great grandfather was mr. Raymond Parks who happened to fund a few races. He was a Gangster with his own crew who made moonshine as most did. He has passed away but is in this hall of fame. He was born in 1914 and died in 2010 15 days after turning 96. He was the owner of Red Byron’s car and it won the championship in 1949. He was the final member of the founding fathers of NASCAR. He was known as the, godfather of southern auto racing. Fly high!
Just visited with a friend in Georgia (I'm from Michigan) who recommended the museum. Only we didn't have our own personal tour guide! You did a great job filling me in on so much, thank you very much for posting this video!
1 lug wheels and aluminum wheels are Blasphemy. A 5 lug tires change IS Nascar . They have truly lost there way and it gets worse as time goes along . Thanks for the video !
The SB2 is an engine, that my personal take. On the fact it looks like a mixture of the design of the small and big block engines. Which is why I refer to it as a hybrid between the two engine designs. Although it definitely does trigger some folks, that I would refer to it as such. Of course, I don't care, due primarily to the fact I have been around for 35 plus years working on race cars, vehicles in general. Therefore I have spent my fair share of time in machine shops, and even disassembling and reassembling engines. So from my perspective I can make reference to how I want to describe the SB2 engine. You would think I was calling their momma fat and ugly...😂
My husband takes old models & builds custom vintage race cars like the ones in this video!! Lol he'll love your channel.
A very nice tour of the museum and I would love to go there one day I'm a awesome Bill and Chase Elliott fan
