I'm old(er than you lot). I enjoyed G1 Transformers the first time around. Then I forgot about them until a few years ago. I wanted my favourite G1 Transformer, a Jetfire. I bought one, loved it, then saw that Transformers were still going. Since then I have been a third party and Masterpiece collector. Right, with that out of the way, I saw a video by Chris McFeely called The Basics on Tidal Wave, excellent video, as all of his are. I flipping love that figure. It was such a shock to me that Transformers were going all of that time and seeing that video made me think I missed out on vast amounts of excellent figures. I am really looking forward to your video on him.
@@Optimusprime809 Is there a defined starting point for the IDW comics? Talking about comics, you have no idea how big it was that Galvatron was Megatron in 1986. It was a huge story called Target 2006 (!). I imagine people now just accept that as fact, but before The Transformers The Movie, we had no idea. So effing cool!
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX That's so cool! I did read a few of the old Marvel comics, I bought a huge bundle of Transformers comics from Humble Bundle for like £15 and it includes nearly all of the Marvel and IDW comics at the time, such a great deal. I've been reading through the entire IDW run since first lockdown last year, I'm really far in now and am loving it! In terms of a starting point, Transformers: Infiltration is the start of the IDW comics. It was written by Simon Furman in 2005, so before the live action films. I really feel the early IDW comics did a great job at modernising the original cast, and it got the tone just right. They're generally light hearted with darker undertones and moments. Reminds me of Transformers Prime actually. If you needed to obtain a accurate reading list, you could join the Transformers Wiki Discord and ask Jalaguy to send his reading order, that's the definitive one for me.
Yeah man transformers has been one of the longest running toy lines Hasbro has ever had, and except for a few years in between series they've basically had an ongoing cartoon series in one way or another since you won although it's fizzled out recently. On a separate thought have you gotten your hands on The siege Jetfire it's a really great update to the original if you're a fan of the G1 toy.
RID (2015) warrior class Fracture was one of the best figures you could get in that line, also both his vehicle and robot modes are good. The warrior class line was pretty much the best lines in that series, My personal favourites are Steeljaw, Fracture, Sideswipe and Soundwave.
Yep, definitely many good figures there. I started with Blastwave because I couldn't find Bludgeon (because of course I HAD to have Bludgeon...because BLUDGEON)...then a few more followed. That part of the collection is growing, albeit slowly because they're hard to find around here (as are most older Transformers things). Really cool looks and lots of good molds.
That's a really great haul bro! I've been after TFA Ironhide for a long while! And I agree, the RiD Warrior class figures were very underrated, the Decepticons especially were excellent! Soundwave would probably be my favourite.
Pretty good variety of toys. Scored both Cybertron Ironhide, and Ratchet as well as Arcee in a comics store years ago. Tidal Wave has been sadly stored away in a bin with an assortment of Unicron Trilogy toys going on 15 years. Still really cool toys though, just nowhere to display them. Universe Red Alert looks really sharp next to that waves voyager Inferno. Not the greatest toys but still very good/solid for that era. Used to have that Cybertron Landmine and the more he pops up the more I feel I wish I still had him.
Wow, what a coincidence that I pick this video - bought same Red Alert, this last Sunday. Yeah, I’ll look up the transformation soon… So you got one of the BW Fuzors, I think? Cool. RID2001 (got to specify 2001/2015 now) Grimlock? Cool. Sunday, I also got Hot Shot from that line. Also, I’ve been watching TF:Energon, and that’s definitely the Tidal Wave you got, No worries, though, same mold, just different colors. Nice haul! My latest grail is G1 combiners -Computron/Menasor/ 4/5’s of Superion. Thanks!
Man, the amount of TF Animated figures I still wish I could have myself. Ironhide included. Great job on acquiring him and all the others in this haul. ^.^
Red alert can be sunstreaker if you just flip things around a little, mine has a loose head mechanism where you have to turn it past full lock to raise the head up enough or it falls back down. But he was one of my first figures to start collecting this year, not a bad figure, decent transformation, looks good, good paint.
Had a Tidal Wave (the white version) at some point but got rid of him after a while. He was moderately cool but just didn't fit well with the rest of my collection. Hoping they'll update him and make him generally more awesome.
My grail is G1 black Zarak..... Unfortunately original ones disintegrate in the box. I'd be perfectly willing to buy the upcoming generation selects black zarek, but I already bought the earthrise scorponok mostly because knowing how rare the idea of them doing Titans has been I thought for sure they weren't going to do a black Zarak if they were doing a regular scorponok or at least not anytime soon. Now I'm trying to decide what to sell out of my collection to cover the cost in order that my wife doesn't castrate me.....
I still have my Armada Tidal Wave from back in the day. Easily one of my favorites in my collection. Now you just gotta get Armada Megatron to combine the two. I have my Megatron/Tidal Wave, Optimus/Jetfire/Overload and Unicron all displayed next to each other.
I have the red alert mold as sunstreaker and have had it since it came out but it stays in car mode because most of the joints are beyond loose. It's unfortunate because while it doesn't look great, it's a neat little mold
If you think Fracture from RID2015 toyline feels very good, wait until you get the hold on Megatronus. That is the best one from RID 2015 Warrior Class line.
Does your Tidalwave still have the jet minicon tucked away inside the aircraft carrier? That folding jet was one of my favorite features back in the day.
when it comes to collecting transformers im only collecting the new stuff, the farthest i'll go back is titans returns i used to collect during the thriling 30 but fell out of it, go back into kingdom and got most of the WFC line now i can't go back to that no ankle movement, i like the scale and the added articulation. im all in when it comes to new shit but back logging i just want the headmasters and maybe overlord
I’ve had TidalWave a long time and he’s good…except his legs don’t move forwards or his knees don’t bent as they should, I can’t remember rn, but its so stupid to me
I have some robots in disguise one step changers I want to get rid of, honestly I'm cleaning out the ones I have no interest in and i'm collecting wfc and studio series now
What? People want to see you review more 3rd party? BS. All transformer reviewers look at 3rd party stuff these days, and the only one I can think of who reviews old stuff is PvP, but that's not very often and is only movie toys. Definitely prioritize old stuff with some 3rd party sprinkled in, lots of other reviewers do 3rd party, but you're the only reviewer I come to for old stuff. And speaking of old stuff, a review for ROTF Mindwipe and Skystalker would be awesome. And more PCC if you want to get more of those. I hear Steamhammer is pretty great.
I flipping love the Mindwipe and Skystalker duo. I just had to buy the other two versions. I'm still not certain that I've got the combination 100% correct, but they all look so good I don't mind.
I still need to get myself an Animated Ironhide. He's on of the last Animated Autobots I need.

"Thews ratchet solo."
Good one
I’m glad I sold you on blur. Idk why people bash him as much as they do
@DBart Stop Motion Studios it just takes a bit more work to get some dynamic poses
I returned the one I got the same day. I hated the head sculpt and the colors compared to the legends one I got.
Tidal Wave is 1 of the best Sense a toys......looks great when combined with Megatron/Galvatron.
Great find.

Tidal Wave Tidal Wave! Chris McFeely covered him earlier. Nice Haul!

Tidal wave is a great figure.I found mine loose a couple years ago at a local thrift store for around 5 dollars.

That's actually an energon tidal wave. Armada wasn't so orange. Still a cool toy, though.
Energon tidal wave was covered in green transparent plastic. This one is the Armada release
