Sweet demo of Eart GW2 Pro, outdid yourself once again! I'm used to PRS with their ubiquitous treble bleed, it sounds good here too. This PRO is very tempting for trying out a headless guitar, with a better bridge, 24 fret access, the stainless frets and an ash body. But these are $770CAD in Canada (available through Amazon), pretty pricey, maybe they are worth it. But this years GAS cash is gone already.

Hi John, I recently had the Tonerider AC2 fitted in the bridge position of my 2014 mim strat aswell as tex mex pups in the mid/neck . Best sound I've had from any strat I've owned, particularly, surprisingly pos 2! I'm sure the Tonerider will sound great in the Eart Cheers, Stephen, Scotland

Great playing John. Joe Satriani pick tapping, sweeping, regular tapping and legato, some moments of shredding there, but very tasteful.
Hi John, for all my years of playing I've never come access the treble bleed gizmo. Back in the day I had a friend who I'd known since I was a kid who worked on guitars as a business so I always got "Mates Rates" if any of my guitars needed anything doing to them. Sadly he's no longer with us so these days I just have to try the basic stuff myself.
You mentioned Eart telecaster-style guitars in an earlier video... Any plans on testing that one?
I seem to remember back in the days of peak headless it was claimed that bridge tuners had better (higher?) ratios leading to more accurate fine tuning than traditional machine head tuners
But they were made in USA and had price tag to match.
At the risk of advertising, a certain high street guitar chain in the UK with guitar in their name twice is doing a giveaway on the standard EART model with the faffy crank to tune mechanism via their website. UK only.
The treble bleed I think added more clarity and it was a lot more chimey (is that a word).

500 pounds and it needs pickups even after treble bleed install? That's a lot of money already for a "budget" brand-even if it says Pro. Always interesting John, even if it is a charcoal hambone.
Headless hardware is stupidly expensive. The price is still pretty reasonable considering those costs.
I reckon 90% of players, especially those who like a "modern" sound, would be Ok with the stock pickups, so it doesn't necessarily "need" them. I just prefer a more vintage kind of sound, hence my curiosity about alnico ii. As far as the treble bleed goes, I don't know why all guitars aren't fitted with them as standard 👍
I’ve played over 5 decades and with all the choices now plus electronics and pedals .. what ever sounds good or great ..
If headless guitars were good enough for Allan Holdsworth they’re good enough for anyone!! 👍

Hi James I saw both reviews, GW2 and Pro version, and let me say that one big advantage of being headless is the length, I traveled a few time with mine and could storage in the cabin without problem. And something important that you don’t address is that the GW2 pro include a gig bag. Mine not and is very difficult to get one, and buy an strandberg case isn’t and option for me because it cost half the price of my guitar.
My GW2 Pro didn't come with a gig bag. Who is James, by the way?
A’m really sorry John for misspelling your name. Thank you for clarifying that this guitar didn’t came with a gig bag neither, like I said in my comment it’s an inconvenience that Eart most to address.
Another quirky thing about most of the headless guitars design is the fact that you couldn’t hang it, and put it in a stand neither. That is another valid reason to have a gig bag or case.
John it always confounds me that builders can't be bothered to weld on a Treble Bleed for 99p on £500 Guitar...there's something Symbolic about having a Starting Handle for your Axe tho IMHO...
Are the frets on the Pro indeed taller than on the Standard?
No... Don't think so. It feels identical to play 👍
I was tempted. But the break angle at the headstock and bridge is too shallow to prevent buzzing strings. The guy who designed this guitar was asleep on the job. ;)
Nice review! I did one on the GW-1 too (so the one with trem) and it seems that they fixed some of my issues. But 2,97kg is VERY heavy. Heavier than my GW-1 and also heavier than my Ibanez RG. One question: Is the cavity for the electrics isolated? They missed that on the standard models.
That this guitar is headless is not only a gimmick. It usually is meant to make it more lightweight, which obviously did not work out in this case. For comparison: A Strandberg is about 2kg. But you still get a guitar with extra leg cut (good for playing in classic position), which is smaller (good for travelling and on stage), has a 0-fret, something similar to locking tuners (increased tuning stability) and no ringing of strings beyond the nut. Not having a headstock solves many problems in my opinion.
