- In this video I’ll be going over the history of Schott including their early days, where and when they made their jackets and the connection between Schott and Beck as well as between Schott and Durable. I’ll also be going over the first appearance of the Schott Perfecto motorcycle and the first appearance of the model 618. You can follow me on IG @LeatherJacketJawn leatherjacketjawn

Nice. I've got two 618 from 1975 and 1989, love them both.
Schotts are great!
Great video. Thanks for taking the time
Thank you!
I just got my first Schott, been a dream for awhile. I got the 626VN. The quality and softness of the lesther is unlike anything i have ever owned. Its a little hot to wear right now but im excited fornit to cool off so i can wear it
Nice, congrats!
Thank you for taking the time to make this and post it. It's like an interactive Lighting Magazine haha - SO much fun and information in this video
Thank you, this one was done before I knew that I needed to record horizontally, I was also reading off my laptop being held in one hand and my phone in the other lol! I was thinking of maybe re recording, especially since Im getting an early horsehide Schott. I think I just might do it eventually. Glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful collection friend. It is too bad I did not run into you in Pasadena.
Photo2U? Hey man, thanks brotha! I will be there this April, hope to see you this time around!
I love your instagram. Supper happy that you share your extensive knowledge and experience on this platform too
Thank you I really appreciate that!
Yes, 618 with stars became 613 in the early 90s in production. Most people wrongly believe that 613 is a predecessor of 618. The numbering is misleading, too. You are very correct, thank you.
By the way, the author's first name is Rin, not Ren.
Thanks!
Great stuff keep up the good work !!
Thank you!
Bro nice! yay!! I’m so excited for your channel!! Great content!! But please for the next videos film horizontally! I watch CZcams on my tv and this was hard to see everything because it’s like a sliver of the screen! But love the content!

Teach me!! lolol how would I do that on my phone? Just hold it horizontally?
@@LeatherJacketJawn yes just flip the phone so it films horizontal especially for videos longer than a minute and a half. Vertical videos are good still for shorts and reels. Stuff that you would look at on the phone on the fly. Don’t feel bad about it though I still enjoyed it. I think most people would. I dunno how many people would notice. Also another tip, if you have a laptop you can use it to mirror the phone camera so you can have extra monitor. You ideally want to be using the back cameras to get the max resolution but that makes it so you loose your screen there for the composition.. it takes some getting practice I’m still no pro..
Very nice video. But none of your jacket was the Brando jacket. You now, original Brando's were publish before and there plenty of images on the net. I had an original but French buddy of mine was in love with it and I let him have it. No regrets I will get one on my new size one day. I reach to a very knowledge person friend of mine who has a size 40 that has damage but the panels can be reproduce and used as template for repro. There are some companies and makers who will do it for an excellent price. The challenge are those original 40's hardware. You have a great collection!
These are all Schotts. My Brando Durable is in the other video
Wow. I thought I had a collection ….
Haha! If you’d like to see more you can check out my IG
Hey mate, nice jackets and info. I loved your Durable videos. I'm considering buying a used Schott. I am I'd say around your size. I'm 5ft 7, maybe a bit broader than you. I was wondering if you have a size 36 one star or similar could you give me the shoulder width and armpit to armpit measurements please? I have worn other 70s jackets in both 34 and 36. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I’m 5’4” and around 135 lbs. Unless you’re around my weight, I’d say you probably need a size 38. My size 36 618 from the 70’s measures 17” in the shoulders and 20” across the chest. But if you’re skinny then maybe a 36 in the 70’s perfecto would work for you. My size 38 also fits me pretty well
@@LeatherJacketJawn thanks for your reply. The current jackets I wear which are from both the 70s and 80s are around 17/18 inches from armpit to armpit. I have a little wider back from working out but I'm pretty slim. I mostly wear s or xs sizes. I don't like them baggy.
@@nialmitchell1443 17”-18” across the chest seems awfully small. Are you sure you’re measuring correctly?
@@LeatherJacketJawn I usually measure the jacket straight across the front, armpit to armpit with the jacket zipped up.
@@nialmitchell1443 With the arms lifted up and stretching the chest across under the armpits all the way?
