It was not the county sheriff, it was the Paiute Native Park Rangers that drove through the protesters barricaded. They are cross commissioned peace officers, Tribal, state of Arizona and state of Nevada.
yeah that was huge--gave faith in the "american way" once more
Pretty sure that the "Sheriff" mentioned, was meant as a sort of generic term for law enforcement.
Or it shows that native tribes are more interested in money than taking care of their environment….
Cool info. You do such a great job reporting.
I'm just glad to see officer's not tolerating stupid bullshit !!!
10 Billion videos on youtube and nothing worth watching UNTIL THIS SHOWS UP!!!
Nothing bugs me more when I am out in nature when I see trash, but No matter where I am, I ALWAYS pick up trash if I see it on the ground, but especially out in nature! Please people pick up after yourselves... if people wanted to look at trash, they would go to the landfill/dump! Let's try to work together to take care of our beautiful earth!
Love your spirit Wonderhussy truly!
you are never out of nature
It's obvious ya do'nt live in urban England. "Some" of the "catering" nomads, let's call them that, are scum !!
Nice lecture dad 😂
Just an FYI: I saw an article about a brain eating amoeba in the hot springs near Lake Mead, you might want to research it for yourself.
Just an FYI: I saw an article about a brain eating amoeba in the hot springs near Lake Mead, you might want to research it for yourself.
I observed the durability of your Toyota and had to have one too. Best car I ever had.
Of course they clean it up. 75,000 @ $500 a ticket + maybe 30,000 @ $150 a parking pass, minus $1,000,000 BLM fee = $41,000,000 a year. The organizers aren't gonna give up their cash cow.
That gets a big, MOOOO.🐮
You guys are so stupid to think those are the only costs. Everyone has something to say about something that don't know a thing about...
That was her point through out the whole video.
@dan-kim9719 She also acts like it's a hajj to go to Burning Man. I was just proving that Burning Man is only a for-profit entertainment event.
Wow!! Even if they spent another 10million on all the work that goes into BM, porta potties, water, dumpsters, cleanup, grading, etc, that's still a nice payday for 3-4months worth of work.
Thanks so much for showing us a real update on the condition & cleanup they did! Wonderhussy reports are the greatest! You rock!
Kudos Wonderhussy! This greatly refutes all the "main stream" coverage which left the impression that Burning Man left a filthy quagmire which would eventually consume the entire desert.
I think back to growing up and watching the TV commercial of the Native American Indian looking at people trash America followed by a single tear coming down his face. It was very powerful commercial and changed a generation of people into treating our country better.
I live in Ky and the side of the roads are so nasty and when I see that always remember that 😢
I remember that commercial too. He was an Italian American who changed his name from Espera or "Oscar" DeCorti to Iron Eyes Cody. It really bummed me to find that out.
@@steveflorence4742 I moved from Southern California to Clay County KY. These mountains are beautiful but I am ALWAYS pissed off at the people who CONSTANTLY throw trash and cigarette butts out of their cars onto my property. It make me sick seeing the trash and car tires thrown into the creeks and the rivers near me.
I am a smoker but I have never EVER thrown a butt on the ground no matter where I am.
I learned very young to be responsible and carry a trash bag in my car and to never leave anything but my footprints behind.
I mod Kentucky
Moved to Cali and hate it, money is good, but once things are where they need, I’m going home
People here trash everything and poohp in the streets
Nky needs a bit of work but at least people are nice and respectable
I hated it back in Kentucky when people dumped trash, California is way worse
A good balanced presentation. I appreciate that you give us full 360 degree scans, showing the mile after mile of SFA, rather than just pointing cameras at messes. The camera might not lie, but it can be economical with the truth. For a bunch of self-indulgent hedonists, the burners seem to be displaying (and acting) with far greater environmental awareness than most of corporate (and conventional) society. ❤😊
Balanced? She blames the scrap of tarp on the current campers ignoring the strong winds during burning man. Then she blames the soda cups on the local rednecks. And you don't find that biased?
According to WH the Burning Man festival is mostly normal people at this point. Also, the company who runs the festival makes millions of dollars. That doesn't sound very counter culture to me.
It's a nonprofit organization, it cost a fortune to set up this event and do it. Wonderhussy I think you should understand that being a burner yourself.
@@adventureswithtbird8087 TOTAL BS. they collect well over 100 million dollars for this. Probably total cost about 10 million. if you think this is REALLY non profit. your pretty naive. Somebody is making some serious money on this. They funnel money from those non profits into corporate profit businesses. CEO probably gets over 1 million in salary. Total MONEY SCAM in the name of doing something good. Just like the democratic party. FAKERS.....We run events in a smaller scale than this and the numbers are just WAY OFF.....Buy out state parks. permit cost only 40k. for a week. Charge 50 per vehicle. and still make a profit of over 40k for the non profit. all proceeds go to Ronald Mc Donald house.
Yeah some one said to me I bet it’s a big mess, after it’s over. I told them, the place gets cleaned up after thry leave. So it won’t even be known anything ever happened there. So I tried to squash that rumor on behalf of the event. I just don’t like negative people about events that are fun! Like you said haters gonna hate. And so what? If they don’t like the event it’s for sure the negative nellies won’t come so they won’t spoil others fun.
The only trustworthy source for news on BM. Thanks.
Great video to show how Burning Man does take care of the Black Rock Desert.
Ah yes, I stopped off at Bruno's and the Burning Man office in July 2001, just to say "Hi", I'm not a Burner. There was a nice, friendly lady at the office who chatted for a while and showed off a rescued kitten who had met with an unfortunate accident and was sporting a cast on each of its front legs. Nice to think that that kitten was being taken care of.
😍 aw thank you
for sharing that!💕🐾
what are you talking about
“Alice’s Restaurant“ Arlo Guthrie movie and the crime of the century. I couldn’t help thinking of that movie when you said “ returning to the seen if the crime’ 😂😂😂
I've been a playa visitor long before Burning Man arrived. It's a special place for me that want people to visit and enjoy the sights that surround them.
I arrived on the playa a week after BM and restoration efforts were well on the way. The mitigation crew had a slew of stuck left behind vehicles to deal with, by the time I departed they were all removed. There were still some broken down vehicles and trailers along 34 between 12 mile and Gerlach, that didn't move during my visit. I'm guessing the playa restoration was a much higher priority. The trash on the road to 12 mile was about normal, I think the litter crew was waiting for everything to get off the playa before undertaking their efforts.
My only concern is that it takes 4 weeks to clean-up and restore the playa after the event. The early days when it was more of an arts experience as compared to a party venue, the clean-up took much less time. Then again there were fewer people attending back then. The clean-up crew are the true heroes of the event.
The BM highway cleanup crew actually wasn't allowed to clean up hwy 34 for a couple weeks after the event due to construction work being done on the highway. So they started on 447 and other highways and did 34 last.
Ive seen the trash along the highway. Campers, coolers, cars, trash everywhere. It's not fabricated but it does look like they clean it up including the highway. Glad to see it afterwards. Thank you, Sarah!
Andy Green broke the sound barrier there on Black Rock desert at over 700 mph in 1997, there is a picture of his car in Brunos bar in Gerlach and the people thought there was a earthquake because it shook the town so bad.
Now that sounds awesome! A good use of the playa and super exciting! Burning Man….hmmmmm nah.
Just a money grab.
@Wonderhussy You’re becoming one of my favorite humans on CZcams, lol. Thanks for this video
No matter the subject of your videos, I am always entertained and I learn something. One of the best channels on CZcams. Thank you for your hard work and diligence!
Actually 12 mile access is for People who work for burning man, busses, water trucks and all assorted camps who have stuff brought in for their camp infrastructure. 8 Mile access is the main access for everyone else. I think the permit is over 2 million per year. It's actually called a temporary closure permit for the event. It is 66 days in total 31 pre event 9 days event and 26 days for cleanup. So no one is allowed in that zone until the BLM releases Burning Man org from the order.
The great clean up story by the queen of the playa
Sandy here: The playa looks fine, MUCH better than PA State forest land after deer hunting season.
Stay well Sarah, Sandy
Sarah as usual the MSM is full of c**p when it comes to reporting facts. Glad you did this follow up video.
A superb report Sarah. That reminded me in the 1980's. One of my son joined the Punk (No future) youth trend. I was an old 1960's Peacenik and an early adopter in the 1970's of the "Limits to Growth" theory about the collapse of the industrial civilization before the end of the 21st Century. No future for the X generation was unnational in my opinion. I was very surprise when I met his girlfriend. She had all the look, the walk and talk of the Punk generation but she was conscious of the environment and was always cleaning up the mess of her 'let's party until we die' punk gang. We walked and talked around the abandoned house where they were crashing and she had like you her garbage bag where she was putting all the garbage drop by the gang in the street around. When I saw you were doing the same in the desert I told myself maybe it will be the end of our industrial civilization but surely not the end of civilized humankind.
Just finished watching the rest of the episode and have to say it's the most thorough report on the aftermath I've seen. It's been years since I've gone, and I was wondering about all the ruts--- now I know. I've been out there at other times of year and don't think the playa surface is ever pool table smooth. Always wondered what the Brits did in 1997 for their land speed record, sure wouldn't want to hit a whoop-de-doo at 600 mph. Excellent job of on-site unbiased reporting.
There have been several pilots that have flown over the playa after the clean-up was competed. I don't know where Sarah went that she could say the playa has been made smooth but it's not true. There are still HUGE deep ruts and from the air you can see the entire circle, roads etc left from this year's Burning Man.
Go look for those videos and see for yourself.
That cover shot is so good...that has to be on the calendar! I love your art form and your attitude. you are my favorite CZcamsr!
Damn. That's a long drive from Baker to black rock playa. Thanks for the update
The bikes end up at Reno bike project. It's a really cool and affordable place to get second hand bikes that the mechanics got in really great condition. They also do rocket weekends at the Sloan dry lake. I keep threatening to go to that.
Seems like an organized fun time where everyone profits at the same time and beautifully cleans up after .❤
Loud and clear here in So. Cal.They did a good job cleaning up.The mud bog looked like a nightmare, I'll watch BM from home thank you.❤🙂🙃
Great video showing what post party's should look like. You need to show TV stations this. They are quick to show negative views!
Ya I’d say they did a great job cleaning up
Thanks for this. I have raked my chunk of playa in the past. Nice to see the aftermath this year.
I always wind down and watch Wonderhussy at bedtime -- sometimes I just let the screen shut off and I listen.
This is the video I wanted to see, showing In live video what it looks like out there and yes It was cool to see where your camp was that I visited you at
They get a heavy rain, the fine lake bottom dust will become slop and if something does not drive through it, it will dry to as flat as it ever was. Everyone who camps occasionally leaves behind something you have to buy or make again, I look in the mirror leaving typically, because some of this left behind might have been under the truck to keep out of the rain.
The dry lake to your left as you head for Nixon used to be wet. Pyramid Lake spilled into it and it was famous for huge fish. Sadly when they diverted the Truckee at Derby Dam the lake dropped so low that lake dried up.
I get all my news from Wonderhussy.
I'm suffering from insomnia. It's four-thirty in the morning where I'm watching. Been up all night and I saw your video pop up. I have to admit the thumbnail got me❤. I had to look up how much it cost for that permit. 3 million. They will definitely be back next year. 👍.
The 'thumbnail' photo of you with the broom is just ADORABLE.
Thank you for sharing this adventure and showing us how the playa looks after BM.
Whoa! Not sure i want to see BMs on the playa.
Thank you for this excellent report. I had always wondered how stuff like this is being handled, cleaned up etc, but was to lazy to do any research myself. I am so thankful that you went back and showed the aftermath of the event. I too pick up after myself and occasionally others, when out hiking or camping. Nothing bugs me more then seeing broken bottles and other small pieces of glass out and about. I don't understand the mindset of people going out into nature, having a good time but then ruining it for others for deliberately breaking glass and leaving it.
Sarah i am so happy you made this video......thank you. Ive never been to Burning Man....but ive come to want "the truth" as oppossed to what we are offered by the media. Thank you again for this delightful video that points to the truth.
A rather strange and cool examination of a rather cool and strange phenomenon. Thank you so much!
Loving the great content lately WH. Thanks for all the hard work shooting and editing. It’s much appreciated
October 9th was the day I went through and that RV broken down on the side of the road that I emailed you pictures of, was still there.
Really would have been cool if it was still there for you to check out but I guess that’s the whole point of the October 10th date. They probably were finally towing it the very next day… Well, at least I got to see it.
Great journalism Sarah. Hopefully some mainstream media outlets will contact you to do a follow up on their previous coverage.
Nice one WH some good investigative journalism there, thanks from all of us who were wondering how it turned out now.
Sarah can you make a video on a peyote cactus search in the desert?
And also go mushroom hunting in the mountains of the west?
Thanks for the follow up, Yes it was an awesome time, all of it.
You do great exploring with the hot springs and deserted sites, your stuff is every bit as good as Greg Aiello, and he's a good one.
Sarah you would've made a great Grade School history teacher 👏
Thanks for always having such cool videos. You have really inspired me to take up van camping. Just got myself an old trusty 94 Nissan minivan. Took the back seats out. Me and my two trusty sidekicks are off to the beach this weekend. Wish me luck. If Sarah can do it I can do it. Love from NZ.
You rock Sarah Jane!❤
Hey Sarah, It was not sheriff that moved those road blocking protesters. Thought everybody should know it was the local tribal police. And a great job they did at removing them from public harm.
Thanks for the update, Sarah! 🎉😊
Thanks for the video. It answered a couple of questions I've always had.
Your commentary on this event and the aftermath is amazing.
Love you and the blessings you do your part ❤️
Enjoyed your video. You hooked me with that photo of you in curlers w/ broom. Nice one!
Oh by the way great report on the clean up of the Burning man area!❤
Good morning Sarah Watching from Union Mo👍🇺🇸❤️
Love this flaming Sheila. She has a rare talent of being entertaining and informative at the same time. (Tim from New Zealand)
Miss Sara you are the best! So apricate the update !
Thank you so much. I deeply appreciate people who speak the truth and call BS where they see it.
Thanks that was great, I often wondered how they do the cleanup. Also love your videos.
Great Video! Thanks for doing the research!
Yay Wonderhussy. Thanks for the video. Solid, informative report!
You’re a hoot!! Sure enjoy your videos… nice to see BM cleaned it up so well… I’m very impressed. People can be good, for a crazy time…
Be safe in ur travels
Great contact as always thank you for the update on the burning man situation.
I absolutely love your vids Wonderhussy. It's awesome to see how well they cleaned up.
You have very Kool videos, blessings for giving us a look around your neighborhood. Have a great fall season 😎☮️✌️
I'm impressed! 👍
Thank you for showing us the post-mudpocalypse playa, WH. It looks pristine and ready for more!
Good morning Sarah- see you are out and about again. Nice video glad it’s all cleaned up.....
WNN Wonderhussy News Network
Excellent video, Sarah Jane. Perhaps the first honest reporting on the condition of the playa after Burning Man. Hard to argue with videos showing the condition.
Great video Sarah, I wish we could see more of your footage from the festival...
I hope you know that some members of the grading crew ended up with your trailer tongue blocks to use with one of their trailers. They do not drive those grades, dozers and bucket
loaders to the site, they haul them on trailers behind trucks. They don't want to set that trailer jack on the playa surface...they want to spread the weight like you did with wood blocks.
Well, now someone has spares and you have to get some more somewhere. Anyway, yeah...the permit will be renewed next year. Thanks for the update, Love.
i honestly thought it would be worse i see much worse at national parks campsites
The Playa is usually underwater in spring. You can paddle board or kayak on it
You just keep getting better....so fun.
This sort of "content",is one part of why I have been greatfull for your perspective. Thanks sweetheart!
Excellent update!
Thank you WH.👍🏽
I’m really impressed you correctly identified the grader and three loaders. Love your content ✌️😍
Thank you for posting another great video adventure Wonderhussy !!!
❤ been waiting for this one...
AWESOME.....KEEP WELL❤
Lovely video, great insight thank you all the love from the UK.
Thank you for the great video. I never had any doubts about the proper clean-up of the area. Can you imagine all the people who are convinced there are still huge trash heaps out there?
What is astonishing is you could take the 'convinced' people out there and show them and 90% of them would still say everything was forever ruined. Something crazy like turtles couldn't walk the same on graded dirt...just whatever they could invent to support their whacky sky is falling religion.
Thank you Sarah...good to know !
It looks clean to me..
Great video report as always and your clean up uniform on the video promo is ultra hawt. Keep up the great work Sarah
Great video, thanks
I really love that you do this. What would be even more interesting to see is the clean up process itself!
Yes! On a timelapse!!
@@ronaldoago-go5907 I was looking around and there really isn’t anything like this out there. Just a few short news articles about it.
Fantastic report WH..having alternate sources of information is a wonderful thing! As mainstream news clutches their pearls and bemoans their lost influence and ability to bend the news as they wish..
Haha! I just saw the thumbnail photo for this video. That really made my day. 🤣
This video was *SOOOOOO* *GOOD* -- Well done, Ms. Wonderhussy!!! ❤
Thanks so much for the fascinating information. We really enjoyed it! My niece had found for years and my cousin (old hippie/alternative farmer) used to go 15-20 years ago! Always was fascinated with the whole idea! Thanks again. We love your stories!
Nice work as usual
It’s great to see that they did make a huge effort to clean up, I honestly didn’t realize they would hire people to stay and clean for a month, so it’s good to know that they truly do care. At least your pieces of wood left behind was organic matter, not like plastic or anything like that, accidents happen. Thanks for your report wonder hussy!
Love that picture before the video, good report on burning man and cleaning up area 👍😎👏📸❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Black Rock is more than two hundred square miles I think it looks pretty damn good pretty nice
