Jayden Ott scored a lot of decency points on that last run.

      Why did he do that?

      Seriously?

Instead of giving a snarky comment maybe you could give a serious response? I assume he didn’t need the points and didn’t want to rub it in, but not everyone outside of the US knows the rules of the game.

I don't see how my remark was snarky. In the U.S. a remark like yours would not be considered a serious question, it would be considered a typical "tough guy" response to a decent act. Since your response makes it clear that you already knew that, I suspect your "question" was not serious.

If Ott scored, there was still a very slim chance Stanford could come back and win it. It would have been extremely difficult, but not impossible. By Ott stopping himself from scoring, that chance for Stanford gets eliminated; Cal can burn the remainder of the clock by kneeling each play, and Stanford has no time-outs left. I can’t rule out that he may have had decency in mind, but the more likely answer is that he made a smart play, knew what Stanford would try and do and said “nah we’ll take the guarantee win here if I stop vs the probable win if I keep going.”

I hope the Pac-12 teams keep up annual their rivals match even after they switch conferences.

I do too. It would be tough for USC because they have ten of their twelve games already decided (nine conference games + Notre Dame). If USC can make this work with Notre Dame, UCLA and Cal should be able to make this work.

Ugliest uniforms in California history. The best of course were in 1968.
