- The incomparable Ray Wylie Hubbard performing Without Love (Just Wastin' Time) at the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville. Part of the always great "Jammin' at Hippie Jack's" series of videos.
The full 90 minute (!) concert can be viewed here: / watchv=y9_xbiuv9ne
I don't know if Ray Wylie owns this because he's performing or if Hippie Jack does because it's his show, but I DO NOT OWN THIS MUSIC. I just love it. Please go buy RWH's entire catalog here: www.raywylie.com
and
go to Nashville to thank Hippie Jack and shake his hand (and/or subscribe to his channel here: czcams.com/users/jamminat...) - Hudba
This is probably the best recording of this song

Pure Ray Wylie
Pure music
Truth in Art
Pure, blessedly simple music, making it about as good as it gets. Guitar work is just stupendous, lyrics are simple and telling, even the voice is right for this song. Can it get any better? Not in my own view..

Hey man....The Voice of Angels,
Everyone sounds AMAZING....
YAL ALL ROCK !!
Saw him perform in Lukenbach last year. What a great night! What a great guy..very gracious and appreciative of his fans ♡
Come to bend county store . Can't get enough! October 16
Eventually, he will be remembered as one of the great American poets/songwriters and I sincerely hope, unlike Townes, it is while he is still here. Given the chance, see him live. You will never forget it.
RWH not being more known is a major indictment on our society and their lack of taste.
One of our more intelligent lights. Love this man.
I would also have to agree!
Yes indeed
Why the hell did it take me all this time to be able to hear your sacred music?
These uncouth ignorant silly humans
I walked the same halls he did in high school although several years later. He was among a several along the same time that took their music to higher levels. Michael Martin Murphy, and B. W. Stevens were among his classmates and friends. look them up. I play at guitar and as an adolescent I thought I had what it took. :) I wish talent was something that rubbed off because I have known many that made an impact. I knew Stevie Ray Vaughn and once he almost got me in big trouble, but that's another story. All are Oak Cliff brats, and my memories of Oak Cliff are some of my bests. Yeah, I'm old, not as old as Ray Wylie Hubbard, but not far behind. I did meet B. W, Stevens once. He was sitting on the hood of a really nice Chevy II, and a friend introduced me, and he said, HI. A friend of mine that was a drummer for Ray price, another W. H. Adamson grad knew them all to some degree and always spoke well. Ray Wylie Hubard, you wrote a sone about Mother Blues and I've been there, write one about Oak cliff. I had a fake ID at 17 and went there and the Cellar across KLIF radio station. The Cellar!!!! Many memories. Ya'll, I'm sorry to ramble but sometimes get flashes of memories and I haven't time delve that deep.
Ray is a true Bad Ass. Thank you sir.
You're never too young 2 die or 2 old 2 learn.
👍👍👍❤️
Yeah, it'll probably work.
Love his personality! Got a hundred bucks?
Another great discovery from Outlaw Country on Sirius. How come I never heard of this guy before? He's fabulous.
Ya need to visit the Sssssssnake Farm
Oh, you probably know Red Neck Mother, JJW put a live version on Viva Terlingua. I think he used it to close with Everyone singing. Ray has a story about that song. He wrote it making a joke about the people at the bar across the street
Seen him 5 times. Number 6 October 16 2021. Bend, texas. Cooler than the center seed of a cucumber!
Glad I watched Austin City Limits on Saturday! Had never heard of RWH. Have spent much time listening to any of his music I can find and I'm very impressed with what I've heard.
Glad an acoustic version of Dust of the Chase was included. Should have been in title.
Shame, shame, shame on me for not knowing who Ray Wylie Hubbard is. Wow, his lyrics!
Yeah, the lyrics to this one really hit me in the feelin' pieces. They still blow my mind. That's why I made this video...didn't even mean to have that other song haha.
...and ol' RWH lands on a dustier shelf than alot of TX songwriters, so no shame. That's the other reason I posted this video...pass the word along!
I agree..
Wow a friend just introduce me to this artist. I'm blown away by his John Prine style guitar pickin. John Prine and this guy together on stage would have been awesome to are. Rip JP...peace ✌☮.
Oh ya he's funny too..lol
Mr Ray Wylie Hubbard you are a god sir!
Ray and Bob Dylan......we’re blessed
Hair piece is real. So is RWH. Love his music. Wish there were more recordings with his son who has plays a very tasty guitar. Check it out.
That Lucas is an awesome guitar man, and I hope carries on the music when Ray is done!!
Love that introduction.
Good voice really!
A true entertainer
Love watching shows at Hippie Jacks.
Excellent talent 👌👌👍👍
Great song
Good music..great talent
Happy🎂Birthday Mr. R.W.H.
I'm reading his book "A Life . . .well lived" interesting. I knew Ray Wylie when he was a very young man running with John Vandiver. another favorite Texan in an OKC coffeehouse called The Sword and Stone Coffeehouse.
actually just re-read it myself i wasn't into those minimal punctuation no capitalization interludes like this but they grew on me.
Punctuation is overrated
@Talkin Bout Nawlins Yep, those were the days I was part of it all. Yes, Johnny's murderer is in prison and everytime he comes up for parole, John's daughter, Jo Jo is there to see he can't get out. Support JoJo VanDiver, she has a FB page. She'd be glad to hear from one of her dad's fans./
@Talkin Bout Nawlins He's closed due to virus. He isn't sure about reopening. Did you play there?
@@poorjennie His style like e.e. cummings. I believe he had the same lit teacher I did in OKC. But I know he didn't go to HS in Oklahoma.
I like this song.
He’ll be in East Tennessee in early September! I’ll tell you where after we get our tickets
Great to be alive😊 4:21
F-Beautiful man 😩😢😭

I’d love to meet you Ray! I’m a singer/songwriter kinda! I saw you with Jerry Jeff Walker at Buddy Holly park in Lubbock Texas in the late 1970s! I live in Midland Texas now!You are my #1!!!!!
without love we are wasting time...
"...I can't deny that heaven lies beneath a cotton dress... "
(The Chase)
I meet dudes like that everyday at the t.a. truck stops.

American legend
Opposites will always self destruct- sad but true
To my friends
This is what we like to call back home "some talented picking".
Love u all I just me lol every day
I watch this once a week.
Why would utube put a commercial 2min and 10 sec into the video!?!?!?!?
have a kid put "uBlock Plus Adblocker".....it's free & works great , I have had it a few years now & love not having AD's in the middle of stuff
I take along Samul Colt
What a great experience, and all he has to do is sing ha!
And that-s a great hair piece!
His hair isn't real?
Sure l guess it is real. It just looks filthy dirty and like the whole head gear was made for a pirate movie. Maybe he found that bandage in the street. But he is a great entertainer for sure!
I figured it added to the image of outlaw countryman : )
the man is the real deal, I have a buddy who played with him and said he was genuine and awesome!
its all good, wasn't busting you, I was just thinking you saw something I didn't ha ha ha
have a good one!
Who cares about his hair? Why be so shallow? He has more talent than you so shut up.
What’s with the wounded revolutionary war soldier vibe?
Help jsound is great😊 4:42 4:44
You know Richard Wolf played with Panic JopkinJoplin or Michael Inge.
My uncle use to play guitar he was John Williams they had a little trophy shop in Miami they use to do the orange bowl trophy for a college football bowl game at one time his girlfriend bought the business I hear d also I found out later she was CIA she was straight with me it seemed what little I knew of her.
Is it just me, or does the lady they cut to look like Martha Stewart?
That wasn't martha that was Biden beginning for help to win against the best demarate president ever. Donald duck Trump
I thought it was! Lol
This is David Allen Coe in the watered down prime time, made for TV movie docudrama version of reality. The real question is who would play RWH? Jerry Garcia of course. Lastly who would play Jerry Garcia? Nobody! In the Hallmark version of reality there never was such a thing as hippies let alone overrated junkies to portrait them.
As a card caring member of the punk rock scene I'm curious the state of the punk movement if there were never a hippie movement to rebel and lash out against. And that's when this seemingly harmless G-rated movie become the most psychologically thrilling concept horror to ever rattling your soul

I would love to edit his lyrics.

this is an odd thing to say
