- We are making our way home from a two week trip in Florida and the Bahamas. As we depart Ocala, we have to dodge a few storm cells and modify our route to avoid more. In the interest of time, I'll include the Galveston arrival and low ILS approach in the next video.
Appreciated your shout out to ATC for all their help to us. Could not agree more!
Another great production. I love how you show that it’s easy to just ask for a routing that works for you and not to just accept what’s issued.
AND ... Praise the Lord for ALL good things.
I like seeing the instruments
Very good in every aspect - as always.
Great videos. You HAVE to do a video about your panel. That is really an incredible set up. Would also like to hear why you prefer the 310 vs the 350 PA46. Keep up the great work!
Thank you and that is a great idea! I chose the 310 and specifically, one in the 1986-1988 range for several reasons. I wanted the Parker-Hannifin landing gear and electric flaps which didn't exist prior to 1986. I also wanted the Continental for lean-of-peak operations as opposed to the Lycoming. With the 310 Continental, I get better cruise speed, better climb performance, more useful load, longer range, and a quieter cabin than the 350 Mirage.
Another great video and great flying!!!
We need a petition.. Have Katie more often on your videos... 😍😍😍
2nd comment this morning......watching a series of your videos this morning...really well done. Thanks again.
Thank you Mike!
Great channel, glad I found it!
Great videos, Can you post some videos of your experience flying to the Caribbean Islands?? Thanks.
Hi Aaron. I would have loved to post them but I had so many problems with the cameras (GoPro) overheating, my footage was pretty much useless.
Looks like you could use a set of Jet Shades
I love your videos. However, if I can I would like to make a suggestion. I would love a little bit more story to your videos. Tell us where you are going and why. Are you going on business? What is the FBO at your destination like? How did you get from the FBO to the hotel? I would even love a little clip about packing for the trip. Casey Neistat is good and to this before his trips. Show us inside the FBO.
Hi Rodger. This is excellent feedback, thank you.
Another great video, thank you.. Question on your aircraft...what appear to be headset holders on the ceiling. Standard equipment or added. Can you tell me anything about them. I have not seen them on other Malibu aircraft. BTW you have a fabulous panel, a dream panel to be exact.
Hello. Those are actually the mounts for the original plastic sun visors which I found to be useless so I never reinstalled them after my panel project. I have been using them to hold the window shades in.
Love your videos. Just curious what cameras you are using?
Hi Aaron. Regrettably, I'm using 3x GoPro Hero 6 Black's. I haven't been impressed with them at all as they frequently freeze unexpectedly, have horrible battery life, and are way too temperature sensitive. Sorry, that may be more than you want to know...
“Glad I’m going to hevvn”
Nice video. what was you time in climb to 20,000?
Thanks James. It was 28 minutes on that one.
Curious what the unit is on the glare shield that you moved to the center at about 4:20?
That is a USB battery to charge the cameras.
Nice panel. Were you loading the GLS approach video separately?
Thanks Buck. I was planning to do that but as I'm going through the GoPro footage now, I am missing most of the good stuff due to cameras randomly stopping and me forgetting to change the exposure settings (I got a lot of pure black video...). I'm sick over it because it was a very interesting night approach, in rain, down to 500 feet. I'm looking to see what I can piece together...
Malibu Flyer No worries! Only if you still have it just because I’m only 20 nm or so from GLS. Otherwise, thanks for all the work putting these together!
I've noticed in a couple of your videos that you're using sun shades. I'm sure they do a great job blocking out the effects of the sun in the cabin, including glare, but doesn't do too much for weather observation or traffic spotting.
I also follow Baron Pilot, and he's flying with Jet-Shades in his Baron. They do make a set for the Mirage. I'm pretty sure they would fit the original Malibus as well. As easy to remove as the sun shades you're using now, there are also some for the front windshield as well. The nice thing is, you can see through them!
Are you using an XM subscription in this video?
Yes but only as a macro reference. What I see out the window and ATC radar are primary.
@@MalibuFlyer OK, you’ve replied to my comments/questions but I’d sure like to connect by phone. Would you be willing to do so? I’ve sent an email where you could reach me to we could set something up if you’re willing.
@@marktaylor2135 I haven't received an email from you.
malibu pilot what program do you use to edit your vids
I use Apple Final Cut Pro
Is the plane by any chance equipped with onboard radar?
Doubtful, or he would have been using it to dodge the weather. The original Malibus did have the option of the RCA/Sperry WeatherScout radar, but it was actually IN the wing, unlike the pod under the wing for the Mirage, Matrix and Meridian. They are also an early 1980's vintage design, and have not stood up over the years. You'll gain a couple of knots having it in the wing, instead of under it, but unless you're trying to shoot the gaps between thunderstorms on your own, NEXRAD, Sirius XM, and ground based Radar, working in conjunction, should give you a pretty clear path through the precip.
@@GaryMCurran Thank you sir!
@@captaine.1223 certainly welcome, sir.
