Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

I love how you call the men "The Dad's" when Rick is the only technical father and the women are the girls. The 8 of you make such a great family. Embracing all the quirky situations and having fun with them. There's nothing wrong with enjoying life and finding enjoyment in finding creative solutions to problems. Frankie and Evie have got to be some of the most blessed girls in the world and the rest of show how appreciative you are for your blessings as well.
Have you watched their Mountain Biking series where Frankie and Evie were younger and coined the term "the Dads" since the wives and littles were the support team to the guys. So cute and a great series also.
They're just missing the Kingsleys. I'll bet Eamon and Bec are watching daily, too

I LOVE Rick, Beck and the girls-they add so much personality to the story. Dusty and Sara are so much fun too. I look forward to 9am MST on Saturdays to tune into this adventure...and everything you do. Over the 7+ years you've been doing this, you've become phenomenal story tellers. I've watched other similar videos and they just don't match the energy, engagement and humor you bring to your videos. Keep on keepin' on!!!

I used to live in Alton, IL, and I can absolutely confirm the friendliness of the people. We had actual real-live neighbors when we lived there, and had quite a few neighborhood parties. Good memories for us, and happy my old town gave you all good memories too.

I know you guys were worried about doing an extended series like this, thinking we would all get bored, but I have been absolutely loving it! Frankly, when you are having one big adventure after another in each episode it can be a bit too much. I like the continium, the progression of a story, a series like this provides. It also provides that element of anticipation, as we all await to see how it all turns out.

The ladies showering in the car wash is such a demonstration of accepting your situation! All of them showering without thinking about "how it looks" and just making do to get clean and relax.
Agree! But do you know why they do not simply use their shower in the van? Just curious :)
@@kimdivinaeggimann2464 Not sure, but it is probably because only one person can use it at a time and considering their general dirtiness, it would require shower cleaning. And the van has limited water supply. Probably it was inspired at the moment for mass cleaning of all the sweaty and dirty bodies.
@@kimdivinaeggimann2464 I think its because their shower has become a storage closet and bathroom and in order to shower they would have to remove everything first which is very time consuming, then wipe down the shower inorder to put everything back. With their biking and driving days, cooking, and editing, they dont have the additional free time. But thats just a guess on my part.
Watching Nate sing a Shania Twain song and Kara combing her leg hair was hilarious. I was laughing non-stop through that. This is a great series of videos.

Like so many (MANY) others, have watched EVERY video series you've produced (minus the new channel, which is just not my thing), and THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE!!!! You two surround yourselves with incredible people and together do the most inspiringly FUN challenges. Where you've been then to now is extraordinary. From helping deaf children in Vietnam to triage in Africa to honoring those lost in Auschwitz and beyond your kindnesses have created trust and respect worldwide. You are ambassadors of optimism of a better tomorrow. Your challenges footage are inspirational, motivational, educational and laugh out loud, feel good moments. These impacts are not measurable by views and likes. It's incredible reading through the comments, sometimes years after you've uploaded a video how you touch lives. From those who have felt hopelessness from quarantine or not fitting in their daily surroundings, even stress of finances not being able to travel, themselves watching your activities brings thoughts of possibilities and more importantly a sense of friendship. Kara & Nate, this is now my #1 YT video to watch every week. As I mentioned earlier Evie steals the show and today was no exception. She is so cute with that missing tooth in front! She should be on your thumb nail every time now!
It's sad knowing next week is the last part to this trip but I guess all good things must come to an end, next week's video will be a rollercoaster of emotions after watching the teaser at the end.
Kara and Nate l have never commented on your videos until now. I just want to say thank you for taking us on your adventures. You see I became sick in 2021 from COVID. I unfortunately lost my right leg. After being in a coma for two weeks I woke up with my life changed forever . I loved hiking and swimming just being able to walk with my granddaughter. I just wish I could get up and hold her hand and walk down the sidewalk. This is all I wish for, realizing this would never happen again was the biggest thing that made me cry . I couldn't share this with my grandbaby anymore.However my life is so different and I know I can't. I thank you because I feel that I am on these adventures with you. I miss being able to just go into our backyard. Thank you both for giving me hope. Especially when at one time I had none. I wish you guys the best of luck and thank you for taking me on this amazing adventure with you.

Hey Kara and Nate, I’ve been meaning to leave you this advice for awhile now. For your drawer in the kitchen that always slams open you guys should get child proof cabinet and drawer locks. They are so cheap and easy to use. Anyway, I love you guys! I have been watching you for maybe 5-6years now.

I thought I wouldn't like this serie as much as the other videos since I'm not really into biking. Turns out, its the serie I followed the most on youtube and I loooove watching every video as soon as they are live 🥰
Can’t wait for the finale. During my travels across states, I just want to get somewhere and rarely stop at more than 1 or 2 attractions. I love how y’all meet so many interesting people and do so many things along the way. I’m finally learning that life is about the moments. Whether that is family, friends, activities or places that take your breath away!

When Nate was driving by himself and talking I had the most beautiful picture of a baby cooing in a car seat behind him and then Kara having a baby girl in a hiking backpack! Maybe it's just me but Nate would be a great dad and I know Kara would raise such a HAPPY little camper ❤
I do believe if utube goes out of business Nate can be an excellent funeral director or deliver bad news at the hospital. He loves being pessimistic, morbid like and just bad news period. The shower at the car wash is epic. Loving the girls journey, bad asses. Hugs and light for the little ones❤

I love the clear display of the difference between the east and west of the USA.... out west people like to pretend to be nice, but they're really not... out east, people might seem abrasive, but they're actually super genuine and caring people.

Gosh, I could watch this group bike forever! But special shoutout to the girls. It is incredible to see Evie and Frankie get on those bikes, even in the rain. What a testament to their awesome parents. But everyone on this trip has been so great to watch. This whole adventure and series has warmed my heart and has made me laugh. While I'm sad for this one to end, I can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead for both of you, Kara and Nate - and hopefully they include more Dusty, Sarah, Rick, and Beck!

the college campus you rode through in Bloomington was almost where I went to college!! it was my plan for a while but I met my now husband at 16 and went to a local (kentucky) college instead 😊 I would’ve loved that campus clearly by the few visuals I got, but i’m glad life led me to where I am now!
