Funny as it sounds, this kinda already exists - when Ed Fries(one of the founders of the Xbox Division of Microsoft) retired from his position as a programming experiment in his free time he did a "demake" of Halo for the Atari 2600-an yeah it opens with an 8-Bit mix of the main theme(it's only around 20-30 seconds though since the cart is like...8 Kilobytes is size or so hahaha.)
If you look up "Halo 2600" you can see his creation from back then.

There's the Mark 6 gen 1, and then the Mark 6 Gen 2, and then the Mark 6 Gen 2 special version that was custom made for the Chief, and so on
So is this using the nes sound chip or something
