Always a treat to catch Osborne AND Leno together, relaxed with minimal scripting.

I just met Mr. Osborne on Wednesday, 5 October 2022, at The Audrain. Possibly the most personable and knowledgeable car guy I've had the opportunity with whom to talk. Spent about 20 minutes of his too valuable time talking Porsches, racing and the state of the automotive world. If you ever have the opportunity to meet and talk to him, jump on it! Thank you sir for your time.

Wait a minute, is this Targa a normally aspirated 400hp? Wow, that would be like having two 911SC euro spec engines back there!! Back in the day, the 260hp 930 awoke above 3,000rpm with all the power I could ever imagine. I'll be quiet now, we don't some old guy freaking out over 260hp. 🤣

Funny you're seeing this video now. Check out the builder, Bruce Canepa, putting it through its paces: czcams.com/video/LB4udEvVqLY/video.html

Always cool to watch Jay and Donald bomb around RI. I do however get the feeling that Mr. Osborne would like for Jay to slow it down just a bit on some of these roads. State Highway 77 is a pretty safe stretch of road.

My position on modified or original depends on many factors. Now this example of a modified 1983 911 done by Bruce Canepa is on another level. In a way it is similar to a Yenko Camaro or a Saleen Mustang but different in that this 911 was a classic before the build. Hagerty values on this 911 Targa range from $111,000 for a Concours condition to $36,000 for a worn example. The Canepa mods add value that will stay because of his credentials.
That this 911 Targa or Porsches "aren't rare" is debatable. Do as you please with the car if it is yours goes without saying. I find it disturbing when a actual rare classic like a 1955 Nomad is modded. What could anyone do to a factory custom that adds anything interesting? The 1955 is a 'halo' car imo in that it was the first year for the small block V8 and the Nomad body style actually came from concept cars.
Barrett Jackson has an endless parade of '50's and early '60's resto-modded Corvettes. These cars go for between $300,000 to $500,000 and are not bought by the 'youth' contingent. The extensive redo of these cars include complete chassis, drivetrain and interior change out. These cars are not like the Canepa Porsche. Who knows who did the work on these Corvettes and what if any engineering went into it. If the final analysis how many ZO6 Vettes would 300K buy? A brand new mid engine Vette for that matter, complete with all the factory go fast equipment would absolutely bury any resto-mod built by Hap's Rod Shop in every category. And Chevrolet has parts.
The two of you have the right car 'guy' chemistry and are a pleasure to listen to.

If Automotive Executives (Engineers) really understood their customers. 1.The car would be built better with better materials and last longer.
    2. The car would be easier to work on by the customers themselves.
    3. The parts would not cost an Arm Leg and Testicle.
    4. A water pump replacement would not require an engine out service with 12+ hours of labor.
