I like the theory but I have a bit to add which I think came from the youtuber Nen World Review? Beyond didnt kill his father because he hates his father or just to get what he wants. Netero was on the decline for decades and never would have accepted a slow, drawn out end of life. Beyond killed Netero because he loved his father and knew that Netero wanted to die a warrior's death.
I remember this theory so maybe it was on New World Review…but yeah knowing what we know about Netero, I like the idea that Beyond spending decades crafting a worthy opponent to Netero as the greatest act of love.

I don’t see why everyone thinks beyond is a villain. He’s done nothing to be considered an antagonist. If anything he’s pushed the story forward wanting to traverse the unknown, and as Netero said, beyond wanting to venture the unknown makes him a better hunter than Isaac himself.

I disagree with this theory. While Pariston is a madman, he genuinely enjoyed having Netero around as a rival and was genuinely saddened by his passing. There's also a scene in the manga where Pariston mentions that Ging is the only man he's ever hated. It was an internal thought so Pariston wasn't lying.
On the othwr hand, Beyond 100% would set up an event like this to kill his dad and set up a dark continent expedition
But Pariston also clearly states he wants to destroy and hurt the people he loves. Which is exactly what he ends up doing with Netero.
He seems messed up in the head enough for it to not be a contradiction; he can feel sad at his passing, yet have been the one behind it.
The Chimera Ant Queen made her nest in the NGL, King Meruem then left for East Gorteau upon being born. Both those Nations Collapse as a result of the Chimera Ants. Not sure how you could make such a mistake even if they are on the same island in Nunavut, Canada you think of as Cuba. Yorbia is North America with York New being NYC where Washington DC is on the map. While Mitene Island is in the Arctic Ocean it would have to travel around Baffin Island, Quebec, & the rest of the Atlantic Coast until it reached Yorknew.

@@yourlilsapling2149 Togashi is 57, thats certainly old but not that old.
He stopped drawing because his back is in ruins. He couldn't even wash himself or go to the toilet by himself because of the pain. He draws while laying down on his stomach because sitting and drawing is too painful.
Nonetheless, he is working on new chapters. We got 10 last fall and around 20-30 of the next chapters already got storyboards. They "just" need to be drawn, although that is the difficult part for Togashi. But he is still working on the manga and i am optimistic that we receive the next batch of 10 chapters later this year or at the beginning of 2024.
@@devarientyeah people don’t understand, gon is probably past the point of a nen excorcist. I think with the power we saw nanika unleash to heal gon? I don’t think gon will use nen again, I don’t think his vow is something that can be rivaled.

I do like the theory, I admit. I think it requires too much improbable foresight on Pariston and Beyond's part, and the actual explanation is probably something much less interesting if Togashi were to ever give one canonically. Though I will say, even if this theory is true it wouldn't make them HxH's true villain.I think HxH isn't aiming to have a true villain - ala Aizen or Madara - and is more about the intangible, mundane kind of evil that the world creates through its existing unequal and corrupt socio-economic and political structures.
Let me put it this way, if, say... Kurapika were to beat Beyond Netero and Pariston Hill in a fight, what meaningful change would there be to the HxH universe from that act?

Y’all are not thinking big enough. Netero knew about the ants and he killed himself on purpose to trigger the expedition and for the post Mortem nen benefits. His post mortem nen probably protects his son. That’s also why ging treats gon like he does. To fulfill a nen contract so Gon is more powerful than him and can conquer the dark continent
I wanna add something to what you said about evolution, there isn’t a final stage of evolution, we’re all sort of in the middle stage, evolution just happens over such a long period of time, we just see everyone’s latest point in evolution, give it another couple million years and we may be extinct or we may be different. And previous evolutions aren’t necessarily taken out by being killed, more so the the things with more advantageous features to survival are gonna be breed with more until that feature ends up becoming more prominent

Finding fossils in general is rare compared to the number of species that have existed. It takes an absurdly fortunate situation for something to fossilize instead of just decomposing. Therefor over 99.99999999% of all creatures ever alive will NOT become fossils. Then add in the shear destruction constantly happening on the planet from continents shifting, weather, and anything happening to the planet from outer space. Yeah its not easy to find fossils, this is why finding any of them tends to make people a bit excited.

The theory in the community, mostly from new world review, has been that beyond (with pariston's help) was the mastermind, so that beyond could go the dark continent.

I just hope Togashi works whenever he feels healthy and happy enough to. He doesn't owe us anything and I find the entitled way people talk about his health problems disgusting.
This theory makes no sense for so many reasons. Firstly, dropping a chimera ant queen in a cave and hoping it would kill Netero is like dropping an ALIEN egg on earth and hoping it would kill the president of the United States. Sure, it may happen, but you risk endangering the whole planet trying to kill one person who may not even show up to fight the threat. Second, there is no way that beyond would know how powerful Chamera ant are after learning nen or even if ant can even learn nen in the first place or they would even be able to produce Mureum or Royal Guard level ant if he did then Beyond knowingly spread a threat that is able to conquer and destroy the earth in a few year to kill his father who only have a few year left to live. Thirdly, beyond is a patient man, he wait fifty years before making his move. He could wait a few more years for Netero to die. The correlation between dropping the queen ant in a cave and hoping it to kill Netero is so stupid, improbable, and farfetched
And Pariston loves Netero. He doesn't even seem to tolerate Beyond. He only became beyond's right-hand man because it is interesting to him and only after Netero die. Why would he kill Netero to replace him with an inferior version of Netero? It would be like Joker kill the batman and then became arch nemesis with robin.
Also, if Beyond have the capacity to produce chimera ant queen. Who not just create a King ant and Royal Guard himself instead of leaving it up to chance. If he could genetically create an ant queen, he would've been able to breed them to be loyal to himself instead of leaving them independent and unpredictable.
And do Beyond look like a scientist type? or the world of Hunter X hunter have any scientist capable of producing a chimera ant queen? The world of hxh seem to rely more on nen than science and we haven't seen anyone in hxh capable of a feat like genetically engineering a race of sentient chimera ant or even close to it.

Gyro? In all honesty, we will never reach that part. The Succession War will take a lot of time because of the huge amount of characters that are involved. After that the Dark Continent-Arc will be huge as well, with Beyonds true motives, Ging, Pariston and maybe even Don Freecs.
and i guess the plan was then to get back to the human world and Gyro would be the final villain of the final arc with Gon back as the protagonist together with Killua maybe.
But we will never reach that point. If all goes well we might see the first 10-20 chapters of the DC-arc but even that arc is unlikely to finish.

It's been quite a few months after, and still no chapter. It seems like they should start coming out again soon, though. Once they start releasing them, I hope he can stay healthy

It's more so likely that ging is the one that planned neteros death. Ging is one of the few people in the show that have been stated to be at least a better nen user than netero. He is also easily top 3 smartest people in the series.
He has also been shown to love the adventure, have a supposed book of part of it, as well as straight up tell gon he wants to go there.
Pariston isn't a planner, he is more of the off the top type of guy. Ging as seen through greed Island is easily capable of planning at least a decade in advance for multiple different outcomes.
Ging most likely heard stories through both beyond netero and Isaac netero himself. Therefor came up with a plan right then and their.
It's also no coincidence that kite is the one who was looking after the chimera ants. Neither is the fact that he knew gon would choose unknowingly to go see kite.
