- Why Your Calculator LCD Has Black / Blue Spot? This is how I repaired my calculator display. Most users have this problem.
This is good for any LCD display. Calculator, multimeter, electronic keyboard display, speedometer display etc. Since this is my 1st video, there will be mistakes in making the video. Sorry for that. Try this at your own risk. Thank you.

polarized film can i use it if i get
@@ravichandel8690 I didnt understand.Explain please
Sorry for my bad english. Do you can explain better for the silver papper please? Or say me any link to I understand.
Thanks. Have a good day.
@@gonzalounamunzaga We need only a reflective surface.Silver paper is cheap and easy to find.Thats why I used it.You can use any material that reflect like wrapping covers of biscuits, milk powder package etc.
@@howtodo22 thank you very much! I'm going to buy those biscuits then 👍🏻
I'll bet you never realized how much this video helped, at least to one particular person who really loved his device.

Thanks for the video. I repaired my calculator according to the instructions and now it works perfectly.
Great!!! Thanks for the comment ♥️
many models of other brands does not have a back metal plate. removing the silver film is as easy as picking the corners of the film and peeling it off. tweezers help.
for those models there will be no need to use glue dissolving solvent.
ive fixed 1 multimeter and 2 calculators to date. no issues.
FYI i use white paper as replacement. works fine.
hope anyone who reads this find it useful. have a nice day
Yes you may be correct. We can try different materials as reflective film. I don't have any experience with any other display models. If you say so,it may easier than this. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. Stay tuned for more. Cheers ❤️
Can we do away with the silvery film/paper altogether? The numbers look fine without the silvery back paper…
@@ABC-ed8cg Its up to you. One way or another, our goal is to see the digits properly

Great video. Tried this with my calculator but I must've broken the display. It still works but it can only display a few items. If I try to type in a large number, it gets dimmer and dimmer until I can't see it. This also means that I can't see pages like the setup or mode. Bummer
Edit: Giving everything inside a good wipe with a dry tissue seems to have helped. The problem is still there, letters get a bit dim in the MODE page for example. But at least I can read them, and the calculator is usable now for my purposes.
If display getting dimmer, most probably it will solve when replacing the battery. Make sure battry connected wires are properly connected and then replace
@@howtodo22 Thanks for the reply. Replacing the battery did not help. Nothing wrong with the connections either. It's like the screen can only display a limited number of pixels
@@howtodo22 I was able to fix it by giving all the parts inside a good wipe. The residual alcohol must've been messing with the display. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot of bunch 🤟

The "damaged" film you removed was not the polarizing film, its just the reflector, but your repair is effective nevertheless.
Yes. It was a mistake. I have pinned a comment with the correction. Thank you for your comment. Stay tuned for more. Cheers ❤
Had been facing the same problem alike, I was fixing it and used surgical spirit (80% Isopropyl alcohol) in excess. And for the reflective film used junk wrappers 😅. After I assemble it. Couldn't turn ON. Get disappointed and ordered new one that cost a thousand on Amazon online shopping. After a few hours, out of curiousity I was trying it for the last time and astonishingly it works. Could have been due to gradual drying of the wet LCD display.
Oh god 😂😂 btw now you have a backup in case 🤭
Thank you so .much it was useful.

I used white paper as a replacement of a polarizer worked great 👍
Happy to hear.Stay tuned for more.Cheers❤️
That is not polarizer. The polarizer is a film, smoke semi transparent colour, laminated on the back and on the front of the LCD. The glue he cleaned out from the back of the display, was in fact, scraped from the back polarizer. The silver foil he removed was just a reflective foil, glued to the polarizer. If you remove a polarizer from an LCD panel, you would not be able to see anything on that screen.
@@1zanglang maybe, i Didn't know the name then
Thank you sooo much broooo😍😍it worked❤

Bro..good work.
Btw the damage film is not a polarize film it's just to reflect the light which falls on the screen. Polarize film is that thin film which is glued on top of the lcd. You can also use aluminium duct tape. 😊
Yes.I didn't know in the beginning. After some time I figured that it is not a polarized film.In comments I have told who asked about that.Thank you very much for the comment.Stay tuned for more.Cheers❤️
@@howtodo22 what is it then? if its not polarized film?
@@yes_man_lol Its a reflective film
i just removed the reflective film and placed the metal piece. though the metal piece is itself colored in silver i guess no need to add anything. Its working fine. thank you.....
Yes it also work. But little bit dark. Cheers for your effort ❤️❤️
use polarized film ( can get from broken lcd computer screen) instead of Al paper, to get much better results. Anyway thanks for your video .
Yes. I have replaced with old mobile display. Its better than AL paper.
Great content

Great!!! It work!! Thankyou!!
Also will this work on lcd panels which have a back lights?

Very smart hack. I’m just wondering if we can do away with the silvery film altogether. I can see the numbers just fine after the silvery film was removed in the video..
Yes. The purpose is to use silver paper to reflect the background light through the display. That's how we can see the digits. Reflective surface removal means light gets low and hard to see the numbers. Still displays fine. But hard to see.
Good.
Thank you very much for your comment. Stay tuned for more.Cheers❤️

Good luck and be careful ✌️😎
Hi! I’ve used the polarize film but as it shows on the LCD, the first 3 numbers was showing/clear but when i try to input another numbers, it fades. I have not yet replaced the battery and i just saw the comment to use reflector rather than the polarize film. Is it because of the battery or the film that i have inserted which shows fading numbers in my sci-cal. Thanks!
It was a mistake that I have saying the polarize film. Its the reflecter. Before that try replacing the battery. Digit fading can be done because of bad battery.
@@howtodo22 oh okay. Thank you so much! Will update once I’ve replaced the battery.
very nice thank for you

hello! i found your video very useful. can i ask if it is okay to use aluminum foil to replace the film?
Hello.Thank you for your comment.I didnt tried it.But may be it can use.Just try different materials. You will find a better one.Only purpose is making a reflective back.Cheers❤
Thankyou ❤

Tqq so much bro

super bro
Thank you ❤
can you use aluminum foil as an alternative for the silver paper and polarized film?
Yes. We only need to make a reflective surface.
@@howtodo22 ok thanks
Does it work for the other model where digits are made by dash lines. I have some missing dash lines on my calculator
This method only works for the black patch issues. Few digits missing issue cannot be solve by this. You may have some errors with ribbon or paths.
@@howtodo22 ok ok.thank you
do you have a video tutorial in half number in lcd issue casio fx100ms?thanks
Sorry not yet
Hey do i have the same problem my lcd looks like its leaking from the top the calculator looks like the thumbnail for this video if i replace reflective film will it look good again
If digits are showing in that area this will work. If it is completely black, then this will not
How u attached that silver paper to the lcd? Glue or something?
Can i use whitepaper instead? ;
Add glue. But in here I didn't used any because I wish to replace it again.White paper can be used. But try to find any reflective paper insteed.Cheers❤
Does this work for all LCD displays like printer, copier, coffee maker too?
If it is a display like this, it will work. But make sure the display is not broken. In here all the contents are displaying and only fault is the black patch. Some patchs are completely dark and not displaying any content in that particular area.It cannot fix like this. You have to replace whole display.Hope you can understand.Cheers ❤
Is it ok if I use different alcohol such as isopropyl or ethyl?
Sorry I cant say exactly about that.Is it hard to find surgical sprit on pharmacy ?
@@howtodo22 its ok I did find thru online shop.
@@jomariacebuche5996 Great.Good luck with your work ❤
Thanks
Welcome ❤
You can also serve kitchen aluminum foil ???
Yes. Anything reflective. But make sure to use it without dents. Cheers ❤
Hi! I just want to know that my calculator display has some lines missing, due to which i cant differentiate between 3,9 and 6 could you plz tell me how to rectify it.
It may be a ribbon issue.Unfortunately ribbon issues are hard to repair ☹.You can check it by press the display area which is connected to the ribbon.Be careful when it doing.Because it may cause to damage the display.Cheers❤
I have a 1977 make Casio fx-19 scientific calculator. Where can I get it repaired? Please guide.
English please
I can't say exactly about that Mr.Singh.Better to ask electronic repair centers and calculater shops.
Can I repair the broken display
I use white photo paper and it works good 👍👍
Great!!!Thank you for sharing knowledge.Cheers❤
This is very helpful but does this work if the screen is cracked and you cannot see the numbers?
Sorry. This will not work for cracked screens 😢
For my calculator the upper side of the display is missing some lines over there what can i do
Is it blacked or nothing?
Bro intead of silver paper can we use silver foil
Try it.may be it is more effective than silver paper.cheers❤
Can we use sliver plastic paper
I cant say exactly about that. If it makes a reflective surface, then it can be used. Try it. Cheers ❤
Silver paper ke jagah pe white paper use kr sakte hain kya ?
Yes.But brightness may be low.Make sure to use more reflect material.
