I like this item, especially when I can hang it above my cooking station when backpacking or setting it up on my mantle during outages. It does throw light well.

I'm a gadget girl myself. That does look finicky, but I love having all the accessories that go with a product. Something I noticed is when using it there is still foom for air to escape if warming a drink on top. That's kind of cool.

@@charlesartificer2158 The reason why they switched to aluminum and sending its manufacture to China was cost. The aluminum at present cost more then the stainless steel when I purchased it and it also can be bent accidentally if rough handled during assembly or disassembly.

Got the first original ones made from stainless steel back in the 90's. Slightly heavier and tougher but the aluminum has a slight higher reflection.
